French Fries in Montreal

I am probably being a typical fat American when I say this but I loved how they put cheese and gravy on their french fries up in Montreal. Why dont we do that here? Are we afraid of the calories? (lol)

They sell it at Burger King and KFC here. The KFC poutine is like soup.

The best, though, is homemade fries, nice cheese curds and a goooood gravy. Like that picture. It looks heavely...

Poutine, one of my alltime favs, has been popular on the East Coast of Canada for a long time as well.

When it was first introduced in my area, I couldn't believe they were messing with the beloved, perfect, FRENCH FRY.

After being forced to try it one time, I was hooked. Every place in the Maritimes sell it, but you have to find that place that makes it just right.

I go to one place that is hands down, (so far, heard of a new place opening soon that boasts to be the best) the best. It has to do with the gravy they make.

Sauron it's probably not that bad but, I'll go with Lysergic, it's either cheese, or gravy.

Both together?Can't say I've heard of it before.

If you're English with no knowledge of french it's pooo-tine, yes.

Otherwise, it's more like poo ten. Pootine gets the job done really, unless you're in Quebec.

And imo, those fries look kinda soggy because they've sat for a little bit to let the gravy heat and melt the cheese. I'd eat it

Ya know, beaver tail ain't half bad. At least it wasn't from what I can remember. I'd had a lot to drink, though.

Masqua, you ever had Moose Snout? It's pretty tasty once you boil the snot out of it

I'll be going to Montreal in a cuppla months, and I'm going to try the beaver tail...after the obligatory half dozen beers, of course...traditions are meant to be followed, after all...

As to the Moose snoot...there's another culinary treat which awaits me. I'll have to string up a moosenoose in my yard and hope for the best.

I've had lots of moosemeat, though...and I love it...better than beef anyday... and goes so well with a big plate of poo-ten too.

I order this stuff at least once a month from a place called "My Buddies".
The fries are soaking in melted cheese and gravy, and they taste soooooooooo good.

That's Canada for ya, eh!
