If extra external gravitational forces were being applied to earth, How would we know?

The USGS site shows 302 quakes of significant size currently. As if additional forces were being applied to the earths crust.

Don't know if it's related or not.....
An old issue of "Scientific American" (early 80's) had an article about how to detect gravity waves. Had circuit diagrams and all the info you'd need.

The back issues are probably searchable online if you wanted to take a look.

well if we somehow had goten extra grav. you would notice it. simple things from things falling faster or slower(even at a angle) depending on the orentation. though from what we know now we would need alot of extra mass or a device to bend space time. so when you let go of a tennis ball and it imbeds itself in the pavement or takes twice as long to hit the ground youll know. basicly geologicly it would serously FU** the planet up almost totaly earth quakes and valcanos that knid of things

So? Earthqaukes occur all the time.

The reason 302 earthquakes are significant is that over the past few years the average daily number of quake has risen from approx 100 to 150 and most recently 300. This week has dropped to 223 (so far). But it would appear the magnatude has increase........

You mean frequency. Magnitude is the measure of how strong a quake is. You're talking about how often they happen.

No, oh mighty one, I meant "magnitude" (the average quake intensity) has been increasing, "quantity" notwithstanding
