There are no informations about the system minimal requirement on the M$ site, because media center is a complete system (computer + OS) and the OS cant be brought without a Media Center PC. (This will probably give more power to M$hit. What is doing the justice and the antitrust laws ?!). But this is the M$ homepage of media center :

Its all we need, another 2 grand component in the living room. Though Dell is selling one for $999. I know people are going to buy it, but to me its a waste of money. I already have a computer that can do all of that stuff. If I want to see it on my TV I will just plugin my laptop.

Looks like Sony already has a product to compete with the media center.

About the size of the PlayStation2 (news - web sites), the PSX is to go on sale in Japan late this year, beginning at $720 for a 160-gigabyte hard disk version that can record 200 hours of digital video.

Sony said the PSX will reach U.S. and European markets next year but did not provide prices.

I downloaded this the other day, I deleted it when I realised I have no need for it.

I use a linux server under the stairs at home which runs the excellent VideoLAN, which is free and does much of the video and audio streaming in my house.

www.videolan.org...

I have a TV card in the server, broadcasting live TV on the home network, it really does work quite well.
