"God is mad at America"

Topic started on 16-1-2006 @ 07:14 PM by Carseller4

I bet most of you that looked at this quote probably said "OK, Falwell or Robertson is at it again."

This quote is actually from Ray Nagin, who also proclaimed that he wants New Orleans to become a "chocolate" city again.

It's also funny that the article had to point out that Nagin was black.

Nagin, who is black

I wonder why they had to point that out?

Here is the whole article.

He's just like Pat Robertson. God help us all!

Nagin is a racist. He's corrupt. He's an idiot who
couldn't/wouldn't do the job he was elected to do
when the crap hit the fan.

Quote from Nagin -

It's time for us to come together. It's time for us to rebuild New
Orleans _ the one that should be a chocolate New Orleans," the mayor
said. "This city will be a majority African American city. It's the way God
wants it to be. You can't have New Orleans no other way. It wouldn't be
New Orleans."

What would have happened if ... say .. the Mayor of Dallas went
and said that he wants Dallas to be a Vanilla city and that God
wants it that way? The country would be upset, and rightly so.

So why does Nagin get a free ride?

Oh yes ... and now that Nagin believes he knows the Mind of God ...
wasn't Nagin recently getting all upset with Pat Robertson who
was saying something about God hitting New Orleans with a
hurricane to punish it for all the crime and free-for-all sex it has?
YES he did.

Nagin is now doing the exact same thing that he was whining
about someone else doing - telling the world what God thinks.
Nagin just didn't like the fact that the evangelist was picking on
his 'CHOCOLATE' New Orleans sins and crimes. But it's okay for
Nagin to claim to know that God hates us liberating Iraq from
mass murder and rape? UGH!

www.abovetopsecret.com...

Remember this? The FACTS say that statistically speaking -
WHITE people died at a rate higher than their percentage
said it should.

Perhaps we have a real conspiracy here, eh? Considering
that now Nagin's racism has boiled over ... and that he wants
New Orleans to be 'chocolate' and not have any 'vanilla' ...
perhaps he let white people die because they were white.

Perhaps crack pot Farrakahn got it backwards ... it was
black against white racism all along?

(actually, I think it was just incompetence on the part of
Nagin and the Gov (white, female, Democrat) that caused
the problems, but what the heck .. it COULD be Nagin's
racism that caused more WHITE deaths then the stats
should have called for)

As a former "vanilla" New Orleanian, I was shocked by Nagin's comments. But looking at the circumstances (MLK's birthday) and the fact that many have not returned to the city, I think he was trying to get the African Americans to come back.

Also, his comment about God being angry, I think he meant that God is angry at the way African American's treat each other.

Now if he had been white and said New Orleans would be vanilla again, the uproar would be worse!

If God is mad at black communities, as Mayor Nagin suggests, maybe New Orleans ought to become more "Vanilla" for it's own safety The guy is completely a moron!!! I hope he gets fired!!

The logic used by Nagin is idiotic and assinine. God is mad at the US because of the Iraq War, so he destroys new orleans? wtf? Would'n't god, oh, I dunno, stop the Iraq War then? Defeat the Army in the field (giant spiders) , or, heck, bother to mention this to someone?

Its the same idiotic logic that said that new orleans was destroyed because it was a den of sin and modern soddom. It was stupid in that perspective, and its still stupid in nagin's perspective.

This is so ridiculous. I just love it when people spout this crap- 'cuz God works like that, right? I understand His frustration over the ongoing situation in N.O., We definately 'dropped the ball'(a lot). It's not okay for anyone to say things like this, white, black or in-between. These people need to remember that they represent others and fear mongering and lies aren't productive.* Besides, We all know the government did it.*(ooops!)

Peace. K*

why do you all believe God was not mad at New Olreans. He lowered the crime He shut down gaming for a while. I for think he was, because he sent Betsy to visit first. Then there was Camille a much larger one, 210 mph. Betsy became a hurricane on Aug, 29, 1965 and Katrina ended as one on Aug. 29, 2005. Only 40 years to the day. Katrina was much smaller than either, but caused more damage. I lived there and lost a 93 year old aunt.

I have to agree. It might have been acceptable thousands of years ago when people didnt have a good understanding of natural events. If I was alive 2 thousand years ago and saw a meteor strike or sudden volcano wipe out a city I would be on the first on the look at Gods punishment bandwagon.

In the year 2005 we have a pretty good understanding of natural events and this type of religous stuff is big time ridiculous.

That's an odd statement. Care to explain further?
What has white supremacy have to do with pointing out
obvious racial bias in a mayor of a city who is supposed
to represent ALL people in the city ... and not to call for
it to become a city of all one color - HIS color?
