I love listening to music of an unconventional, original bent. I'm tired of Metal, and Classical, so I was wondering what's the best 60'-70's rock. I just listened to an album called "the 12 Zodiac signs" and was just now listening to Velvet morning with Nancy Sinatra and I thought "this stuff's actually pretty good", so from the fans, give me the best of the Genre. I'd apreciate it

ps: sorry for putting this on the ATS board.

For the proper psychadelic Pink Floyd, listen to Pipers At The Gates of Dawn.

It was their debut album, when they had Syd Barrett in the band. That is one hell of a crazy album!

Also, Electric Music For The Mind and Body by Country Joe & the Fish.

Dark Side of the Moon is more progressive rock than psychedelic rock. As EvilSpallacus stated, Piper At The Gates of Dawn and some of their other earlier stuff is the more psychedelic Pink Floyd.

Thanks guys! I'll check out a few of those. Got Sgt. Peppers on my ipod right now, it's pretty good. I'll check the Pink Floyd album soon enough.

I agree with early Pink Floyd being among the best psychedelic albums.

Genesis - The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway - 1974

...if you haven´t heard it already. Check out the song "Fly On A Windshield". The album in total might be more progressive than psychedelic but it definately has its psychedelic parts.

For the ultimate psychedelic experience, try "The Residents"

Can Cathedral be classified as psychedelic? there early stuff was a cross between the latter and metal.
