Brid Flue Has Developed Tamiflu Resistance

Topic started on 22-12-2005 @ 11:38 AM by BOHICA

The Wall Street Journal and other outlets are reporting what we all half expected to happen: the H5N1 influenza strain has developed resistance to Tamiflu.

Tamiflu, manufactured by GlaxoSmithKine has enjoyed a surge in sales caused by the stockpiling of the drug by governments. And I do not expect the stockpiling to stop.

Is this report designed to prepare us for upcoming (natural or manmade) death of millions?

Bohica,

As I said in this thread this 'suddenly discovered' resistance has been known about with ordinary flu for at least a couple of years and there have been official reports of resistant strains emerging since at least September of this year .

The article all the reports refer to is a just a brief report detailing the specifics of each case.
