Psych War in Afghanistan
This is how the Americans are now fighting in Afghanistan - loaded up with guns and loud music. The racks of speakers on top of this Humvee are a bizarre weapon dreamt up by the army's PsyOps unit - experts in psychological warfare.
The idea is that the music will flush the Taliban out of their hiding places in the mountains.
The Taliban banned music when they ruled Afghanistan so these troops are hoping that the sound of Fleetwood Mac will provoke them into an attack.

Let me tell you, playing Fleetwood Mac would inspire me to run out and attack them too.

HUA!
THE United States expressed concern today about film of US soldiers burning the bodies of two suspected Taliban militants which comes as a new blow to the image of the US military.
"From our point of view, these are very serious allegations, and if true, very troublesome," State Department spokesman Sean McCormack told reporters.
He said that an investigation would be held "and if there is, in fact, wrongdoing that was found, then those who are responsible for that wrongdoing will be held to account".
The United States is still struggling to overcome damage its reputation by the sexual humiliation of prisoners at the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq and allegations of mistreatment of inmates at the Guantanamo Bay 'war on terror' camp in Cuba.
The New York Times and Washington Post said senior US officials were worried about the impact of the new video shown by the Australian SBS network's Dateline program on the US image in Muslim world.

Its funny how its excusable when its not the US, but then once it IS the US, suddenly we are held to this "higher standard". How dare we right?
Well if I was over there and i was getting bombed and shot at night and day, I would do whatever it took to flush out the enemy too...
PRESIDENT Hamid Karzai condemned Friday the alleged burning of the bodies of two suspected Taliban militants by US soldiers in Afghanistan, and demanded a quick US investigation into the case.
President Karzai said he had been "very much taken aback and very sorry" when General Karl Eikenberry, the top US general in Afghanistan, informed him of the allegations.
A report broadcast on Australian television station SBS on Wednesday showed footage of the bodies being burnt, which is deeply offensive to Muslims and contravenes the Geneva Convention.
"We in Afghanistan, in accordance to our religion and traditions ... are very unhappy and condemn the burning of the two Taliban dead bodies," President Karzai said.
