A question to mods, supermods and other powers that be.

Has anyone tried to analyse the ATS traffic and determine what words are most frequently used in posts? Like top ten?

That's seems quite doable. Any takers?

I know that "liberal" and "right" will be in the shortlist

Nah, I think the usual suspects "a", "the", "and", "is", "are" etc.... would still prevail.

Well, yeah.

It's a normal practice to exclude those from the voc analysis.

I think "the" is the top one, otherwise.

"Idiot" and "moron" and "fool" have a higher prevalence here than in ordinary English usage, especially amongst ATSers who don't like to argue the merits of their case beyond a short attention span.

Not counting articles and pronouns I assume no.1 would be "post"

Others would include "source" and "US/America"

With the sheer no. of posts, I assume the word " Gazrok" (appearing in the avatar) would also figure in the top ten

But the exclusivity of them. And keeping track.

At the time of this post (as per google), 20% of all cached web references to the parinirvanic belong to ATS. That would be one out of five.

It's the niche.

I bet POTUS and sycophant is way up there on the list too.

My favorite pieces of ATS lingo is the dreaded "noone," a possible obscure reference to a maniacal serial killer in a Clint Eastwood movie (insert "Right" here) or the ubiquitous "WTF," the charming prefix to countless contributions (they must be "Liberal"). Though in all reality this probably supersedes them all:

Carry on.

... only in MA posts.

What is sycophancy anyway?

Main Entry: sy·co·phan·cy
Pronunciation: 'si-k&-f&n(t)-sE also 'sI- & -"fan(t)-sE
Function: noun
Date: 1672
: obsequious flattery; also : the character or behavior of a sycophant

I would temper that definition with elements of apologism and pedestalization with an aura of infallibility on the part of the sycophant towards the subject of sycophancy, but mostly it's just brown nosing and a$$ kissing.

Other terms that you see more often at ATS than elsewhere:

deny
denial
ignore
ignorance

I bet SO (so?) or Skeptic is highly used, as well as ATS. Just a guess though...

Most common link? T&C I bet, or the memcenter or search function.

Also:
pisky/pixy
TWAT(S)
SETI
We've got more things saying Amory than most sites.

Oh, and good movie major.
Not his best, not by far, but I'm a fan.

M/A, you moron, why must you be such an idiot? Only a fool would make such a ridiculous claim!

*Never mind me; I'm just trying to use those three words yet again so they will be moved higher on the list!*

Back to the point, I'd be willing to bet the word "Mason" would be on up there, too.

Unfortunately, there'd be more political words used than conspiratorial words.
