Can you imagine if Mad Max used electric cars.

It would be a pretty short film, and there would no no sequels as no one could charge up to chase or escape the enemy.

Chances are they would die in the wastelands.

Plus the sound would be annoying as there is nothing like the sound of a big v8!

Humongous would have to call time out on his siege of the oil rig camp so his gang could charge their electric scooters.
Plus, we'd never get to see that disengageable blower.

You need to read Go-go Dancers of the Apocalypse !

They have gas but hybrids play a major part. Gas doesn’t last that long before turning to jelly. Which is a nod to EV and/or HFC (and electrolyzer). Just don’t forget the inverter!!

But these are works of fiction and that could never happen…

Hum?…

The national grid will collapse. If you live near a hydro dam, solar or wind farm will still have some juice for a while until that breaks down.

An oil well and refinery will still be a place worth fighting for if you want some energy for stuff. Keeping the refinery running will get tough, done on a smaller scale.

A coal and iron mine as things go back to the iron age is where the action will be, as long as there is enough infrastructure to feed the population.

Could put the big chunky V8 and a big generator in a trailer and tow it around to keep the batteries charged up.

Might just be better off to go find and train some camels.

For a start there are already Mad Max,s buying these electric cars.
As already been put this is fiction and in fiction all the electric cars can be powered by very small nuclear reactors and if you like the engine noise of a v8 just add a noise generator.

But really look at the scenario of Mad Max. Where did they get all the fuel from, certainly not from that little oil depot in the middle of nowhere. I could guarantee that in an apocalyptic situation that after a few months all vehicles would be useless, through breakdown (especially how they abuse them) and lack of spares.

I imagine it would look much like this ...

lol they would be using gas powered welding machines and generators to recharge their cars and there would be epic car fires from computer firmware getting confused without updates and service. It would be the most cringeworthy action film presented by greenies. A must watch in the apocalypse.

in the second video you can still hear birds tweeting, something a V8 almost makes extinct, lol

Bloody awesome. The headquarters for main force patrol is in spptswood, it was a dump for years, though is now the science works museum, the map garage was filmed in the Melbourne university car park.

If you ever get to Melbourne wort it for the nostalgia.

That movie had so many good scenes. The bridge scene where he drove head-on into the bikers was insane! Just incredible.

Sorry! I'm drifting the thread.

For the reactors already made, they will go flat eventually. When it comes to making more and the next generation it is a dangerous job with today's technology. Unless some mutant entity that can deal with having its DNA and RNA constantly smashed up with mining and processing, this tech is going the way of the solar panel in a Max Max scenario. If it is more a terminator scenario then the bots might have a better chance to slow down their circuits getting fried in the production process.
