A Short Poem for my Wife

Your eyes are like pools in a faraway land,

bringing men toward their light, just like moths in the night.

Agape is my jaw, admire your thunder,

bewildering beauty has torn me asunder.

A stranger I am, in this beautiful land,

time is like granules in glass filled with sand.

The warmth of your soul lights my fire of coal,

replacing my plight with a love just so right.

Thanks for sharing. Always like a good romantic. Got some poems I wrote for my wife back in the younger years as well. Kinda drifted away from writing poetry so much. But always appreciate it. It's like the younger version of me was more poetic. This one is wiser for sure, and I still love my lovely wife as much as when I first fell for her. Love is forever. Even after the infatuation fades away. It's more comfortable as well. Like a comfortable well-worn shoe.

I too write poems for my love. Been together 8 years. I like to write all forms. I do appreciate writing a good limerick to cheer him up if he is down.
