From the link provided I find no evidence that this attacker is a ''leftist''. No mention of his political beliefs, and no conclusions as to what have been his motive.

Sure, we can ''guess'' what his motives were. We can also rely upon Dave's comment about him being a ''trans'' man. But do we know that? No we do not at this point. Dave's comment was based on nothing but his own need in that moment for a comedic quip.

We will find out more about this cat once he is scrutinized with something more than just our personal suppositions.

If it was the guy probably wouldn't have actually got the crap beat out of him so bad. Looks like his face was rather swollen and both eyes looked like they were closing up. That is in addition to what looked like a dislocated shoulder...and that's just from the short clip shown of them loading him into the ambulance.
