Why we eat oysters virtually alive.

They sit there and filter the water, so I'm not convinced they go through actual "awareness", the way we understand it.

Histories are complex, although we do generally know oysters (and also lobsters) were once so common that they were considered "prison food".
In fact, in the 19th century there were prison riots because prisoners were tired of eating oysters and lobsters.

But I'm thinking about keeping supermarket oysters as pets

Dude, I just got this oyster from the supermarket, and it might live for an hour!

Eighty-years later.

Out of the can?
Seriously - the revenge of the long embalmed oysters.
Oh no, a trail of cottonseed oil over the carpet.

What I really mean.
Leon - the "rescue lobster".

I heard oysters were good for your sex life so I ate a dozen... but only 9 of them worked.

And we also include a shallot.
We're gonna go Slayer and speed metal chops on that.

And then back to the peaceful oyster.

A micro-aggression perhaps, but why do all aspiring chefs do the onion chop-thing?

A slow cooking program.
GONNA CHOP SOME ONIONS BRO!

Snip-pity-snip.

Yeah, let it all out on the poor onion family.

Condiments to the oyster:

From which hot spring cometh the Tabasco sauce?

Rules for a Japanese Onsen.

Soak up the minerals like an oyster.

Pre-bath shower, remember to rinse and clean area.

No towel or face touching or under water.

Also mixed Onsens with bathing costumes.
But traditionally, men and women separately.
And boy was I glad I never got a tattoo.

A long story, but even Thailand has rejected tourists because of "blasphemous" tattoos.

Well anything to do with feet or the lower body is "unclean" in their culture.

So don't go there with a tattoo of Buddha or Krishna any lower than your hips.

How straight men sometimes can be "confusing".

Yeah but straight women can be confusing too.

Husband went to pee in the Cango Caves.

Wow, next thing her tongue is down my throat.
