Very good point, but as everything with this administration everything was all for the votes after all, look at the slap the American people gave to the fundamentalist and the administration in Florida with the Terri dilemma.

I wonder what is going to happen next. But still I was very surprised at the age range of the Minute man on TV, It looks like a supremacy group gathering.

Oh for sure. It's all about "Which group must i pander to this month in order to further my agenda?"

Now that Bush has secured his second term, he doesn't really need the Latino voter's support - thus the unspoken support for the Minute Men.

Americans taking action in a positive way because of the

I am very worry Flyer, some time somebody may get trigger happy and an incident will happen.

I tell you it looks like a bunch of white supremacy guys, and it was not blacks in the group.

Militias have always been around, but most of them are from supremacy groups.

My main issue is all the non-local people joining in.

If anyone is going to protect the boarders shouldn't it be the locals who know the lay of the land, instead of some weekend warrior from like Ohio?

You might want to practice what you preach. The minuteman project does in fact contain Lawyers, Military active and retired and yes even Police officers. If you want more info look up the archives of the Lou Dobbs show on Thrusday he did some very extensive coverage on the MinuteMan.
Here is what the Minuteman have to say, and I am not your librarian so you can look up the Lou Dobbs info on your own.

I don’t see anybody from GA running to be part of this militia group, After all GA depends on migrant workers for his farming industry.

Why not just offer cash prizes for turning in illegals? In fact make it the 'duty' of people to do so and persecute anyone who fails to do so. Persecute their families as well to cleanse the pure genepool for future generations. Hey if you just worked these people to death as slaves you would have enough money to pay the cash prizes.

Thanks for the link and I have my ways to find out about GA, after all I used to work for a lawyer that specialize in migrant worker and migration law.

I am going to be honest with you I smell rat in that minute man deal and also, an international incident is bound to happen.

Psst the individuals from GA are not migrants Marge your lawyer friend will know nothing about them.

As for being trigger happy, that will not be tolerated everyone has been advised to eject any member that does not conform to SOP.

Imagine what would happen if these "minuetmen" took all of their energy to help the poor? Why don't they help our country by doing something productive? Clean-up a national park? Become a Big Brother to a youth without a father figure? Instead, they just jump at any opportunity to kill brown people (it seems like American's favorite past-time)! Are they going to Canada? Or is shooting at white people not as much fun?

Thousands of illegal aliens HAVE NOT been spotted streaming across the Canada/US border. As an Arizonan I applaud the minutemen. Anyone who recreates in Southern Arizona has seen the news reports of kidnappings and extortion and murder that accompany the Coyotes who bring the illegals in from Mexico. Why is the government not protecting America?? Bring the boys home from Iraq and station them on our own borders. You can bet when all our able bodied servicemen and reserves are stationed overseas, that a human wave will come streaming across the Mexican border to join their millions of bretheren who will already be here due to the porous border. At that point it will only be citizens with guns who defend our freedom. Watch the news reports and note the reserves being called up. Reserves are needed when the standing army is not sufficient. That means much of our standing army is no longer in the United States, but is overseas. I WANT THE MINUTEMEN WATCHING OVER OUR BORDERS!

You know I do agree that the borders need to be protected, but why our president has promised better immigration laws for immigrants to enter US?

I wonder why we need supremacy militias to take "over the jobs" of federal agents.

Maybe somebody needs to ask Mister Bush what he is going to do about it.

you may live in GA...and White Supremacy may be a problem with y'all down there...but then again, i guess anyone that is white, and stands up for their race is going to be labeled a White Supremist...btw...what does one LOOK like? How do you tell the difference?

The Minute Man project is a result of an indifferent government that is run by companies...NOT the people they have been voted into office to serve.

If anyone is to be blamed in what is happening...blame yourselves for not doing something about it before came to what what it now is. Blame yourselves for allowing these elected officials to USE YOU to vote them into office...and blame yourselves for believing the crap that comes out of their mouths.

Now that someone is doing something about it...or at least attempting to show some kind of solidarity in protecting their country...they LOOK like they are white supremists??

If there are shots fired, or if there is any kind of "problem" to come out of this...you will be rest assured that the government will have had a hand in somehow starting it...no matter which side "shoots" first.

Here's a thought...since Bush is so fond of open border policies...what chall say we reverse the imigration trend....heck, when the weather gets too cold for us in the states...lets head to Mexico and Central America...maybe even go further south and see what kind of work we can find...green cards?...we don't need no stinkin' green cards, or permits, somebody will cover for us, i mean, with all the illegals coming into the US, somebody's got to do the work that they are leaving behind, right...we'll just go to work and send what money we make home so when we come back we have something to fall back on.

I can guarentee that the above would NEVER happen in Mexico, or for that matter any other country in the world...it only happens in the US...so...what's wrong with this scenerio?

If it takes groups like the Minute Men to get somebody's attention...then so be it...sometimes it's necessairy.

Oracle I actually agree with you that they maybe trying to call attention and make a statement to the government.

But............after watching the TV and noticing that they were mostly white middle age to older man, I kind of see this militia as a supremacy group.

Now, if the group were more diversify with Latinos and black I will agree that they were Americans protecting the borders, but I see as one group of American taking over.

Even my retired 22 year Marine husband agree that it doesn't look right and that with so many trigger happy people and international incident is bound to happen.

We have to wait and see.

Calling the minutemen white supremacists because of their racial makeup is a clear case of racial profiling.

I can imagine the outcry if the same standard was applied to middle eastern men or to Mexicans.

Oh Jsobecky is just an observation, tell me why is not blacks or Latinos in their bunch? or asians and other...... after all Americans are of different races can you tell me that.

They proclaim to be acting in behave of Americans and that they are doing what Americans want.

Maybe the project didn't have many hispanics and black's join up. Is the group supposed to hold off their activities until when/if they homoginize their ranks? Perhaps many hispanics do not want to join out of fear of angering the hispanic population many of whom have ties with illegal immigrants.

It's sad to see that just because there are not many hispanics or blacks represented in this group you label them as "white supremicists". As was said before what does one look like? Do they have on white hoods and are waving German battle flags? I'm white and I shave my head so I guess that makes me a "white supremicist" too even though I live in one of the more ethnically diverse areas of Florida and my girlfriend is Puerto Rican. I don't think the kkk would take me. With That twisted way of looking at things the National Hockey league is also a white supremicist organization and The NBA must be run by the black panthers.

I've followed this movement and while I'm still not sure if it's a good thing or not it seems that this group knowing they are under the microscope will try their best to keep out any "trigger happy" or white supremicist element. Such an element would just quicken their demise. And isn't the race card overplayed? Really it's just as bad as those who stereotype the hispanic immigrants as all being gangbangers and loafers.

The fact is this movement is doomed to failure, Bush & co. will see to that. The only way to curtail the mass illegal immigration is to give citizenship to the illegals already here then secure the border and make it so these people can immigrate legally, as most of our ancestors did, making things better for the US population as a whole and for the lives of the immigrants wou wouldn't have to live in fear from coyotes, blackmailers, and the govt itself.

But that's a pipedream, Bush has his plan for North America and is in bed with Fox and the money from the drugs flowing over the border.
