I didn't expect ATS to come back, but am so thankful it did! I've looked at other forums in the past, and they just didn't 'fit' like ATS does. I started here decades ago, and I'll end here; I'm too old to move again.

Quite true. I wish they'd get rid of politics, there are plenty of sites that cater to extremism, both on the left and right

At first I assumed that once again I'd shifted to another reality where ATS didn't exist but realized the clowns haven't fired up the CERN time machine. So here we are once more in the breach.

I don't remember that but it is interesting. But why would they have to take them down first, why not just pay closer attention in the first place. It's not like they do NOT monitor questionable sites anyway.

They took them down in a virtual sense, as in taking down the people behind them. They then let the sites run under their management. I think that it was mostly drugs and kiddie porn.

There was a big fuss over it a year or two back, it made the MSM and there were arrests in a whole bunch of countries. I think that they busted child abusers in just about every English speaking country in the world. Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of people. In prison even the snitches hate child molesters.

I remember when ATS was mostly about UFOs and plots by Obama to hand the country over to the UN so that they could declare martial law and rule by decree.

Whatever happened to that conspiracy, I like that one, it was fun.

I guess that I never really got over Jade Helm ending with a whimper.

I had no idea I was addicted to the site until it went down for so long and I ended up ghosting around Reddit looking at what other members were posting there.

That said I mostly post crap or comment from a very personal point of view so doubt anyone missed my opinions.

Still very nice to see the site is fine and has not been removed or otherwise taken down it would leave a vast whole in the internet as it and a few other sites like it act as a pressure release for people to air there thoughts rather than them building up inside, not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing overall from a social point of view however as sometimes people need to air there opinions in the REAL world rather than that just on the net.

But I am definitely grateful to see the site returned, it's kind of like muscle memory, sit down turn the PC on click the browser short cut and type in the ATS url into the address bar without even consciously knowing that I am doing so until the main page appears on my screen,. I actually thought that the site was gone but let's be fair the other conspiracy sites on the net have pretty awful interfaces mostly aimed at cell phone users instead of PC users and there interfaces suck from a PC user perspective which is why ATS user friendly interface helps it to maintain it's number one spot in the genre.

I think its not a conspiracy. New owners bookkeeper forgot to renew the donain and hosting for the year, got behind several months and nobody noticed until the hosting was pulled down. Took a week to get credentials back and now theyre back up after paying bill. Often times it happens cause the credit card used to autodebit monthly got replaced and nobody thought to update godaddy or whomever and so the charge kept bouncing . I really dont think it was any conspiracy.
