I'm learning things, but the whole Eden thing to me looks like a set up, God (light) obviously wanted to create a material existence, so atoms and ev'el, darkness, evening was made

I realize that I don't know much but "God obviously" seems to be you talking about something you also don't know much about, unless you're god, of course.

Ok you win, the reason I won't explain my reasoning in to why I've come to believe what I believe and so back up what I said in my original comment is because that comment was just a random thought that I had at that particular time whilst browsing the thread, and I thought it was a good idea to just randomly post it for no reason.

You were asked where your opinion came from, I know they didn't say it that nice, but that is what they were asking, and you never said where it came from. That is why I said you had no rebuttal.

That doesn't sum up anything about why Smigg believes God is the serpent. While God has foreknowledge to how everything is going to unfold from the beginning, doesn't mean he was the serpent. While God allowed Adam and Eve to obtain the knowledge of good and evil, there were other spirit entities in existence before he created Adam who were there to tempt him. God knew this would happen, but he WAS NOT the tempter. However, he did create a reconciliation plan for humans, while he did not for the fallen angels or deceiving entities. God has allowed both us and them free will to choose good or evil and angels strayed.
