Megan thee mare doesn't have quite the same ring...

The average MTS fan though wouldn't know the difference or the irony.

As long as he doesn't try to sing.

Bass player looks like Ginger Baker. And he's pretty good.

Why is that guy drumming his gitbox?

It was a different band then. Shocking for those that never imagined what they sounded like before Lindsey and Stevie joined. Kinda like the shock kids got when they turned over the Green Tambourine record

MTV went in cardiac arrest for me in 95 or 96 when the #canned Headbanger's Ball. MTV full out died to me a couple of years later when they stopped putting out new episodes of Beavis and Butthead.

I haven't watched any music TV cable since with the exception of VH1's That Metal Show followed up by a couple hours of metal video goodness.

Just yesterday The Buggles played on the radio at work and I explained to a co-worker who is much younger than I, the decline of mtv. And that is the same timeline that I told him about. Did you ever watch AMP on mtv?

Indeed. Christy is a singer. Welsh had a good thing going.

Stevie is a great writer but sounds like a nanny goat.

Do you have any particular song that is that kind of a memory in your life?

My first real date was a J-Plane concert (at the same venue as the Monkees concert, as a matter of fact). We had to leave early (had to have her home by 10). Walking back the the car we could hear Grace belting out Somebody to Love.

She said "Don't you want somebody to love?" Guess what I said back.

Next day they put on an outdoor free concert. That was cool.

Now THAT is a cool memory....

Music....it is a dying breed.

Yes. But somehow it just works for her. Her solo stuff is better than I gave her credit for at the time. Or I mellowed.

My daughter appreciates the good stuff (my albums live in her room now). Every once in a while she tries some new stuff out on me but I'm a tough audience.

Female version of Rod Stewart, I always thought.

Not disparagingly.

He is a major influence in my playing of music. By the way, "Beware of Mr. Baker" is the name of a documentary about him if you haven't seen it. It is awesome and he was a super asshole lol!

And somehow looked younger in his older years. R.I.P. Mr. Baker

I've played at drums.
And guitar.
And trumpet.

Now I just mostly listen and appreciate. Still, sometimes my friends who can play let me bang on the drums for a while. I don't mess them up too badly, mostly.
