'The Very Hungry Caterpillar" is a kids' classic.

Eric Carle had a distinctive style and we had several of his books for our kiddo that he loved. I think his fav was Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?

Now Eric Carle is passed on taking his books and art to another realm.

It's always sad when a part of your childhood (OK, my son's childhood more than mine) goes away.

I just heard that the guy (Samuel E. Wright) that provided the voice for Sebastian the Crab (from the Little Mermaid) passed away too.

Aww. These were a favorite of my stepdaughter and son too.

Great kids books.

I remember that book vividly. The pictures were so cool. This and Dr. Seuss were the first books I ever read.

Thank you for sharing this information.

I had forgotten about the book over time until I read this. I'll have to get a few of his for my nephew.

Sad to see almost anyone go but that's the way of things.
