This woman is incredible. One day she'll declare war to America. One day she'll order to shut down the sun.

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer ordered a Canadian energy company to shut down an oil pipeline long targeted by activists despite fuel shortages brought on by the cyberattack on the nation’s largest pipeline.

“These oil pipelines in the Straits of Mackinac are a ticking timebomb, and their continued presence violates the public trust and poses a grave threat to Michigan’s environment and economy,”

Michigan citizens have not implemented a recall of Gretchen whitmer, so they obviously are happy having an anti-American terrorist as their governor.

yeah it would seem it doesnt matter to her who relies on line 5, canadians and americans alike both benefit.

only other way of transport is truck and rail. just as, or even more dangerous, this is a huge deal and biden and harris dont give a # either, trudeau is probably secretly happy like he is over keystone.

This is a big deal if she gets her way, she doesnt care, only wants to fullfill a promise to a small chosen few.

The ramifications and consequences will be disasterous if she succeeds.

Neil Young and Daryl Hanna must be singing Kumbaya somewhere.

Gretchen is a POS, BUT, this

"The pipeline, and particularly its more than 4-mile underwater section in the Straits, have for years been a source of contention.

Enbridge was responsible for one of the largest inland oil spills in U.S. history — a major leak on one of its large oil transmission lines near Marshall in July 2010. That spill fouled more than 38 miles of the Kalamazoo River and took four years and more than $1 billion to clean up. Enbridge in 2016 agreed to a $177-million settlement with the U.S. Justice Department and Environmental Protection Agency, including $62 million in penalties, over the Marshall spill and a 2010 spill on another of its pipelines in Romeoville, Illinois."

Thats what, $800 million the US taxpayer had to foot?

So Whitmer , as a governor , can make demands from other countries ?
That is only the POTUS's job.
Make treaties.
Does Biden actually run this country or just anyone without a brain and has a mouth ?

ETA : Someone tell "Witless Whitmer" that there is over 2.6 million miles of pipeline already in the US .
For a long time now.

So , that is one case out of over 2.6 million miles of pipeline that flow every single day with no problems .

Denying ignorance.
Why ?
People never do the math . Ever.

Part of me wants to see it shut down, at least for a short time.

No offence or ill-will intended to our US neighbours but Canada needs its own energy security. The enviro-weenies and their corporate backers managed to get the Energy East pipeline proposal killed off a few years ago that would have moved our own oil n gas from Alberta to the East. This would be a nice kick in the pants to ON and QC to rethink their hatred of Canadian energy.

You are exactly incorrect! So far there's been twenty.

But guess who controls the people that validate them? And guess what happens to people that start these petitions? In Michigan. Where the state police are at the dear leader's beck and call.

Michigan's good old boy network is run by women, always has been, always will be until the enclaves of SW Michigan and Detroit are depopulated enough. But don't worry, they're invading rural areas bringing their political filth with them.

No one remembers the historical context on this situation. They built pipelines to prevent oil tanker spills like were happening along the various ocean seaboards in the 70's. It appears to me their tunnel is a great solution.
BTW have you seen the latest from the Energy Sec'y regarding the cyber attack on another pipeline? Canadian Granholm, the Michigan gift that keeps on giving. I loved her smug response to people waiting in gas lines...people that need to drive to work, school, hospital, grocery store..."well, battery powered cars aren't having a problem are they?" hu-yuk hu-yuk

For a second I though it was Greta not Gretchen. Regardless I'm sure Canada will get right on it.

Interesting move for a state whose flagship industry depends on cheap gas.

How dare this young female use her influence in the MSM to call out an unscrupulous oil corporation!

This could even end up costing people a few cents extra to fill up their tank... you can’t get more anti American than that!

Clearly you do not understand what it means to be a queen. Her royal highness is above all authority and knows what it best for her ignorant subjects and for other foreign, sovereign nations.

Queen Gretchencertainly thinks of herself as royalty, and as such her sovereignty is without bounds.

The only people on the planet more deluded than her are the morons that voted her into office. They deserve what they are getting.

Exactly. It’s stupid that we’re in this position. Anything that we’re dependent on, should exist entirely here, not running through a portion of the US.

That energy east pipeline might start to look good soon…

Its a little naïve to think shutting down oil pipelines would only cost people a few cents. The cost of fuel here has already jumped $0.10 a gallon due to short, temporary pause despite the fact that our state gets most of its fuel shipped through the ports. But that isn't the worst of it. Everything that is transported requires fuel. Everything you purchase and materially depend on was shipped once--likely several times--before its ever gets to the store. Even the parts to manufacture the items you buy need to be shipped. These costs all flow downhill to the purchaser. In the end we're talking a hell of a lot more then a few cents at the pump.
