Mexican child, 9, dies trying to enter US: border patrol

A nine-year-old Mexican child died while trying to cross the Rio Grande River into the United States, the Border Patrol said Friday amid a surge in migrants seeking to enter the country.

The child was found together with a Guatemalan woman and her three-year-old, all unconscious and stranded on an island in the middle of the river which demarcates the US-Mexico border in Texas on March 20.

"Agents found the individuals and immediately began administering first aid while transporting the migrants to shore," the Border Patrol said in a statement that did not state the deceased child's gender.

The woman and the three-year-old regained consciousness but the nine-year-old could not be revived.

Children are dying trying to get to America because their parents either don't care about them or think the dangerous trip is worth it. How can we put an end to this?

Is human trafficking at its finest, and blame the Democrats and senile biden for all, Coyotes are buying children in south American countries and they do not care how many of this children makes it to be smuggled into the US as long as some make it.

This is incredible what is going on, right now the drug cartel are having a party with the open border and the amount of drugs been brought to the US in children and peoples belongings, is also sex trafficking.

So for those that think this is littler children and families you are for big wake up.

Under the Obama administration from the "unaccompanied children" were drugs and gangs involved, thousands of children went missing after they were released to people that the government never check to see who they were.

Until this days the missing minors of the Obama administration has been sweep under the rug.

Is this what Americans want? is this why people voted for that senile man?

Well Joe is saying they are walking 2000 miles on their own to get here.

Well send the kids in and then of course the parents need to come in too at some point. There are 2 million homeless kids on the streets of Rio, so south of the border they have a different view about kids... There is an acceptable loss percentage in their view...

What I do not get is people in Texas knows what go on, they know about the sex trafficking and the children, they know this children are bought by coyotes for smuggling they know is drugs involved with the drugs cartel the gangs using children to pass as children themselves and why I see nobody protesting this human tragedy.

What is happening to America,

Children do not walk 2000 miles on their own, Americans are smarter than that to believes this lies. How many of those children had die of hunger and diseases even before they reach the border.

Where is the protest I guess nobody cares.

Biden said Trump was starving the kids when he was in office. Dems solution......put them in a bus and drop them off in the desert, like Gila bend, with nothing, no food, no shelter, no where to go and probably no money. This is a # show from the worthless Democrat party.

we were making headway under trump, but it was never going to end.

The entire point in my opinion was to make it more attractive to go somewhere else that was easier to get into.

We could have gunships patrolling the river with shoot to kill orders and people would still try to cross.

Was this an unaccompanied minor from Mexico? That's strange. Most unaccompanied minors seeking US asylum pass through Mexico, and are not from Mexico.

Most unaccompanied children arriving at the U.S. border are coming from the Northern Triangle region of Central America, which includes Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador.
