Thats the way it should be. And christianity was spread to central America decades ago.

Than what are you in a Spanish panic over?[/quot
e]

I am not...i was asking what constitutes the govenment and big business to translate for only one language.

When droves of Italians came in the 50s, American schools did not teach half in Italian.
It was heavily pushed that they better learn English.

When the same droves of Chinese came as well as other languages, the same message was given to them.

And that was mostly legal immigration

In the last century the u.s. has seen a wave of illegal immigration and that group is having Americans adapt to their language.

This is historic times for the history books 100 years down the road

The government publishes documents in more than 2 languages, you're misinformed.

Business can do whatever they want, including making you uncomfortable with interracial commercials.

What about public schools?

I started a thread about this awhile ago about something similar.

When mayor Bloomberg of ny gave a speech. He would end it by reading something in Spanish. It was cringy worthy .

And in ny that day while many gathered around to listen. We had a Russian with us, a native Chinese speaker and someone who spoke Indian. And one of them asked loudly why is this guy only translating for one group in a diverse place like ny.

Which a debate ensued.

Sounds like a personal problem you need to deal with.

Should American schools be taught in Spanish?

If that's what the local municipality wants. They're paying the taxes.

Show me a public school in the US that teaches entirely in Spanish.

You should come to Deming or Columbus, New Mexico. Mexican kids are bussed across the boarder and taught in English, puto.

Paying taxes, now that's a good one.
In nyc there was about 8 children in a classroom of 28 who had parents contributing to school tax.

And there was such a wave of new children from other countries, they set up trailer park classrooms on the fields.

And the same group they are translating for are known to be the biggest non income tax paying group.

It's so detrimental all the way around

And the loss of English.

Such progress

Sounds like you might just have an immigrant problem since you haven't posted anything other than sob story anecdotes.

Again, I just asked a question and your defensive response is very strange.

I pointed out a story about a Spanish cvs in America.

And i asked what warrants the translation for only one language? The other foreign speakers in the u.s. want to know?

Well English has been "adopted" by the global community, in a multinational exchange the chosen language is almost always English.
But that's just the language. Nobody has been declared a "winner".
That also doesn't necessarily mean that native English speakers are at an advantage.
So if you box yourself in and all you have is your home turf slang, even if both is English, you couldn't really communicate with an internationally active...say manager from HongKong.

Because language isn't as much about using the correct words, as about understanding what the other person is saying even if it's all "wrong", strange and a weird melody and what not.
So everytime you hear something unfamiliar and understand it, you've grown as human.
Be grateful for every bit of Spanish or others you get.
