Harsher UV rays, that's why it feels so hot.
Not much UV makes it through the atmosphere but it isn't UV which produces a sensation of heat on the skin. That would be infrared, you know, like what heaters put out.

Sunspots are about to go silent for 35 to 40 years
According to Zharkova, maybe. But that's not what the consensus is.

I think you'll find that there are as many predictions up as there are down. Some really down.

SC 25 will be significantly weaker and comparable to the solar activity observed during the Dalton minimum in the past.

That prediction is from 2017, more than two years before Solar minimum. Has there been an update?

The entropy value for P5 of the present SC 24 is not available as it has not yet ceased.

Yuh mean quiet?

Lol, yes I did.

The sun does seem harsher and brighter then before.

Could just be my eyes getting old.

Things like this and threads about it are the most ridiculous things I have ever heard of!

It's been a while since we've seen such a 'big' active region.
Brings back memories from 17 years ago, the great Halloween solar storm.

Sharing an image I took today to observe it myself
