Definitely agree there mate.

Been in some of the roughest pubs/bars you could ever imagine and had some brilliant times with complete strangers.

The thing is, people tend to be able to suss chancers, knobheads and bull#ters out within a minute or so of meeting them.
Being open, honest and willing to take people as you find them goes a long, long way....especially when the beer's flowing!

I've never thought you were the stereotypical American.

I'm not, I'm not morbidly obese.

Which is the only state you haven't been to?
I'll guess Alaska?

Alabama.

I've never been to the US, always fancied it but not the 'touristy' thing.

During lockdown me and a mate were talking and we both said we'd love to go there and we have tentatively agreed on a four week trip, open train ticket with plenty of stop off's experiencing 'the real America'.
It may happen next year but a more realistic date is some time in 2022.

Let me know if you make it.

'Spill the beans'? Who gives a s*** what the reasons are, you either disagree with the lockdowns or you're a bootlicking government stoolie. The end.

Sorry, but according to the news and CDC and internet medical experts, you are probably already dead from Covid.. Wear a mask DAMMIT!

Any particular reason you haven't been to Alabama?

I think we'll definitely make it over there, just a question of when and for how long.
The idea - can't really call it a plan yet - is two weeks to get from the east coast to the west coast and then another two weeks going back.
If we can get away with longer we'd love to but there's the little matter of 'er indoor's.

When/if we do it'd be great to arrange a meet up.

Only thing good from Bama is their white bbq sauce. Beyond that, you can get the same in any other surrounding state.

A small personal story;

Earlier today I was out running errands. I was near a hair cuttery place and poked my head in as to avaliability.

Some harpy screeched at me from across the shop for me to put on my mask.

I complied and politely asked if there were any openings.

She stated they'd have an opening in 15 minutes.

I thanked her then left and went two blocks away to an elderly barber.

I poked my head in and asked if there were any "Mask Nazi's" around.

He laughed.

I laughed.

He cut my hair, I left a nice tip, and went on my way.

Masks suck. They are pointless placebo's.

Icke, heart attack??? Naah, it's Novachok. You know the stuff, that deadly that a micron of the stuff can kill you painfully. That deadly that a few Russians have survived it.
Gortex, where is the health serviced overstretched???? Like the thousand bed, specially adapted Covid centre at the NEC that has not even had one bed used. Or is it certain wards that they cram the Covid patients in, shut down ALL outpatient cases, stop ALL none essential procedures, then say the hospital is overstretched scenario.
What gets me with the video is the police are always moaning about being understaffed for solving, or stopping criminals, yet they come out of the woodwork in the hundreds for "riot" control.

I don't mention masks to customers. I wear one out of professional obligation. If someone doesn't want to wear one, its not my business.

The facts are masks help stop the threat of transition and infection

I've tried to understand this to full length and the whole time it's
hard enough to convince me there is even anything out there.

I don't see it amid all the inflated bullsh#t numbers. I don't trust
governors who inflate the numbers by sticking covid patients in
nursing homes. If you don't see GD good reason enough in this
paragraph for me to doubt it's worth wearing a mask? When we've
been thru pandemics before without them? Not to mention me
refusing to wear one from day one. Driving truck thru 11 western
states? Then I guess I'll just have to be the idiot. Fine with me.

Sorry it isn't that big of deal if you ask me. All I can see is how
stupid everyone looks for obeying. I think it's f^%&*%$ stupid. And
if I didn't I'd be wearing one.

There's a saying we use in so cal a lot it goes like this? ........ ALL THAT?

IMO they are a sign of insecurity in many cases, and just trying to keep a job in many more. I feel so sorry for the 5 year old children being conditioned that way, wearing a mask out of fear of a virus.

Never thought it would end this way.

600+ NHS staff have died from Covid so far nationwide, the majority of deaths have been a result of government screwing up PPE and basic things like hand sanitiser. NHS has been overstretched, underfunded and privatised by stealth for years and the complete government screw up from start to finish plus Covid outbreak is pushing it oer the edge.

Despite being summer It's been overstretched in Lancashire for three months or so now. GP surgeries around here couldn't even get hand gel at the start as the gov #ed up the shipments and it's bought in bulk lots rather than by the bottle so may have been county wide. Re-direction of what little supplies the government didn't # up down South is what has led to the current national lockdown/

Just before the Greater Mancs lockdown ICU beds were full of otherwise healthy 25 -35 year olds for a few weeks in several hospitals in Lancs and Greater Manc due to a paticularly nasty variation which thankfully dissapeared and was replaced with standard variants that affect elderly - GPs, Phamacists, frontline NHS staff so appropriate actions could be taken if any had symptoms but were ordered not to tell the public for a few weeks until resources had been redirected from the rest of the country so Lancs could be equiped with PPE/equipment/testing etc...

Cameron removed 20,000+ (1/7th of the entire UK police force) police officers during 'Austerity'. The Police Federation aren't lying.

Sorry for the late update Guys and Gals, I had to pass out, lol

David Icke is fine, he didn't have a heart attack.

There was some confusion about him being quickly ushered off, some folk there thought it was Old Bill dragging him away, but it was his security detail escorting him to his car.

I got this information from a YouTube video, I wasn't going to post it as it's half an hour just to say Icke's OK, but in the spirit of providing sources;

There's legitimate reason for protest against how gov have handled it and some of the restrictions but the 'wear a mask in a shop please' policy is the least draconian and most evidence based policy the gov have. There's a risk legitimate protest against the newer draconian lock down will be ignored if it gets dubbed 'anti-mask' protest rather than anti-lockdown or anti-government incomptetence protests.

The new restrictions in Lancs are pure draconian and make zero sense - illegal to socialise or see anyone even in home or garden even in hazmat gear. Perfectly legal to socialise not wearing a mask or social distancing as long as it's in a pub/restraunt, just have to keep mask on until seated by staff - have to put it on if going to toilet/leaving seat for any reason.

A new one yesterday was you had to have a smart phone, nhs app, scan a qr code for track and trace before being able to enter small independent shops or any pub in Arnside. Couldn't even buy a pie or water there as I still use a nokia brick as I have epillepsy and kept breaking smartphones every seizure. All movement, all detail of what you ordered/were buying from shops was harvested by the App.

Even people who did have smartphones and were comfortable using the app were #ed as the whole network crashed a few hours after launch meaning no one could order anything anywhere in the area (legally) as pen and paper track and trace was removed in all pubs/shops there.

Not 100% but is track and trace an actual NHS app or is it run by SERCO, VIRGIN HEALTHCARE, NHS DIRECT etc? The non-NHS ones sell on the patient data to various countries (primarily US) and Pharma companies for profit and helping develop better medicines (allegedly).

Anywhere else in the country have this App track and trace QR thing or zero socialisation unless they're a carer/supprort worker? It's a measure worthy of 1984 title wheras protesting masks is more pure paranoia, hyperbole.

In the clinical risk catagory myself and like most in high risk catagory I'm unable to use a smart phone due to condition (touch screens spaz out on me due to constant hand tremor never seen a non touch screen smart phone) so measures meant to protect people in my situation have resulted in making it impossible to buy food or water which is far greater threat to life than Covid poses.
