I suggest you watch this video. It shows comparisons of wearing mask and not wearing a mask. It's pretty eye opening and shows what happens when someone breaths in and out. The Schlieren Imaging shows exactly what's going on. The mask may not stop everything. But it certainly does limit things. Wear the mask.

Masks only slow the virus down.

The problem is, the virus isn’t going to simply vanish.

So when the virus is finally slowed enough, we get to take off our masks. Which will only create an increase of spreading the virus. Especially, since ALL of our immune systems have now been COMPROMISED — from wearing masks!

It’s called logic and reasoning. You succumbing go masks NOW — will essentially lock you into wearing them for the rest of your damn life!

Masks come off = virus comes back strong

Time for another lockdown and mandatory masks

Wash, rinse, repeat

You people don’t know what you are signing ALL of us up for.

If ATS is still around in a couple years, I will be back to smear this in your face.

S & F Excellent OP!

I am glad to know my point is not solely my own but shared with members such as yourself. Makes me feel my efforts are not in vain. I will continue my fight against this tyranny. You actually understood the point.

We’re being forced to something now. We comply. But what happens down the road and it comes back? More mandates? Even more strict? Where do we seperate the boundary of law and personal freedom? And to what end do we allow it to be seperated???

In my opinion, this is all about shaping the outcome of the 4th industrial revolution.

Its the first revolution of its kind that could actually enable individuals and individual households to employ the same effective level of technology as large industries.

Organizations like the World Economic Forum have much different ideas, as do the very industries that this decentralized system would supplant.

The results will either be total centralized dependency, maintained through manipulation and social blackmail. Perpetuated by addiction to extreme emotions and dopamine hits from online platforms that are designed to do just that. Eventually culminating in the destruction of any personal sovereignty or impetus, like private ownership or even dissident thoughts.

Alternatively, much of the same concepts can be deployed to decentralize society while maintaining connectivity. Maintained from the bottom up with a strong focus on personal initiative, responsibility, and individualism. Upheld by so many vectors of invention that no single industry can maintain its stranglehold on the progress or profits.

There are pros and cons to each, and every day we are marching towards which of those two versions of the future will be realized.

Not that it needs to be said with my post history, but I strongly prefer the latter option. Im not sure there is an organic middle ground with the organizations and individuals that have been pursuing the former for decades. Theres no "bugging out" from this one either, given the tech level.. such notions are obsolete.

Yeah and I can't do shopping naked either. I feel so much like a jew in Nazi Germany now.

How ridiculous I can't be free and shock you with my fat old ass. Clothes are forced on me.

Well besides socks. I like wearing socks.

I don't have to .
No.
My state does not mandate it.
This state is not a Progressive Liberal Socialist Democrat state.

Yes that's the whole point. It's to slow the virus down until we have ways to deal with it. Texas hospitals are already turning away patients that need ventilators because icu's are at capacity.

Logic and reasoning says. Listen to nurses and doctors.
Wear a mask.

Good OP, it's not an identical parallel, but it works. Anyone disregarding it? You're kinda the entirety of the problems today. Live, let live, and MYOFB.

I think I've made my own stance on masks pretty clear, but many seem to think they can change my mind.

Newsflash:

You cannot. Quit trying, you're just irritating background noise anymore. Go eat something & keep the flapping gums busy.

1.) I don't know you, therefore I do not care about what you feel, fear, or think regarding masks. I won't acquiesce to make you feel more special and safe. Do that yourself unless you're going to pay me to GAF. Even then, you better be wealthy, because it's going to cost you more than it's worth.

2.) Freedom of choice is supposed to be sacrosanct to the very core identity of what it means to "be American". ACT LIKE IT STILL IS.

3.) If you WANT respect for your masking up, you HAVE to be willing to respect people who don't.
Period.
Fin.
Done.
End of discussion.
Get the hint yet? If you won't respect my choice to not mask up, I have no incentive to respect you for your choice to mask up. Refer to number one up there, partially. If you want me to care about you free of charge, you have to walk a two-way street whether you want to or like it, or not.

Don't mistake bluntness for being icy. Actually, nah, I can be an ice princess fairly well, never mind. I will be as frigid as humanly possible if people seriously think they can bully, shame, pressure, coerce and abuse people into doing what they want. F them.

I will not either. Except in a doctors office as I had no choice and was willing as there may be immune compromised folk there. I griped about it (I have a learning disability where I need to read lips to retain information) and my doctor got angry with me and it left me feeling spooked. Don't want to go back.

This is totally about control. The door guard at the local grocery store said their procedures are going to be in place for two years! We have one case in a population over 800,000!

Nazi era germany forced the wearing of the Judenstern (Jewish Star) upon its jewish population much like we are being forced to wear masks. It’s not a choice. It has become “lawful orders”. And well, we all know what ultimately happened to the jewish during the 1940s in germany. Those that refused to wear the Judenstern were faced with death.

During that time, it was by shooting. During our times, since we have some laws still protecting us against that(for now), those that refuse to wear masks are sentenced to death by having your most basic needs essentially cut off since, here in Washington, businesses are required to refuse service to anyone not wearing a mask. Some say “it’s just a mask. You’re showing you care about people by wearing it. You should be proud to wear it”. I’m sure back in nazi germany those same people would say “its just a symbol of your religion, you should be proud to wear it”. The point is, it is something that should not be enforced by law. It should be a choice.

When you are forced to wear something that segregates you from your community and the very very many people who have views like mine, the reasoning for why it is forced becomes quite clear. To seperate those will openly rebel against unlawful orders vs the ones who blindly follow like sheep. Many people have their ways to protest. Many like to be loud and vocal. Sometimes violent. Many will ignore these orders as a form of non-confrontational silent protest. I take the latter path. I will not wear a mask, and hope others follow my lead when they see me not doing so and forego the mask requirement as well(unless of course they are on a high risk category and feel they need it).

It’s a form of segregation. Something we “abolished”, is now making its way back into society, just in a new form. We’re segregating libertarians from everyone else. Libertarians are the greatest threat to both the entire Left/Right system as a whole, since they only care about actual freedom while maintiaining a functioning and fair government.

I know many of you will say i am over reaching with my comparisons. But honestly, it’s just how i see it. There are many parallels. Many local governments are fight back against the fed gov by imposing fascist type mandates. At least where i am at anyway. Fortunatey in my area, local law enforcement has stated they will not enforce it, as they see it to be a violation of constitutional and civil rights.

what are your thoughts about being forced to wear pants?

what about "no shirt, no shoes, no service"?

You know that tell tale sign of checking to make sure your concealed carry hasn’t slipped out of place that is hard for new people to break? Purposely doing that check tends to change that air of superiority scowl when you are not wearing a mask. Especially if you have the deadpan inquiring look of do you really want me to shoot you in your eyes.

Body language is an art. And it tends to be universally spoken.

Would be nice if people could avoid you. You sound like a real jerk. "Sorry, your health is not worth my mild inconvenience." I love reading stories about how people like you catch it and cry about the jerks they were. No sympathy for jokers like you. I only wish hospitals were allowed to refuse service to people like you.

Son is hearing impaired. I don't wear one so we can make sure to communicate.

Our ability to communicate is greater than your health, especially where we aren't sick.

In England and Scotland, everyone is required to wear a face masks or covering when using public transport. If you don’t, you won’t be able to travel and you might be fined £100, or £50 if you pay within 14 days.

Hhhmmmm, my best friend is a PHD doc (25 years) with a masters in microbiology, IQ over 160. He says masks are BS.

Who is more credentialed? Your nurse friends?

Yet I bet you that if he were working with an infectious disease in a lab he'd be wearing a mask.

Also here is another microbiologist doing tests with and without a mask.

The article goes into how the microbiologist did tests using culture plates. Both with and without masks. The mask works.

www.cbs8.com...

Maybe you should ask your friend to do some tests with and without masks to see if masks are bs or not.
