Earth's Rotation Visualized in a Timelapse of the Milky Way Galaxy - 4K

A timelapse of the Milky Way that was recorded using an equatorial tracking mount over a period of around 3 hours to show Earth's rotation relative to the Milky Way.

Here we have a video with a difference which is usually a good thing. In this case it most definitely is.
In video's like this we always see the sky rotating to a stabilised Earth. This time its the sky that is still. The Milky Way to be precise.

Its only 55 seconds long so give it a look you'll be glad you did.

Absolutley beautiful.
I never really get to see the milkyway where I live because of light pollution, but when I saw it clearly for the first time from high in the Himalayas it was beyond breathtaking.
It was like that video, but seeing it in real life gives you a real sense of being a tiny tiny part of something infitite and beautiful(and somehow quite terrifying at the same time..maybe Ive read too much Lovecraft).

The first time I was able to see the River of Heaven, my wife and I were at sea in a small boat. It was a cool, quiet night. The video triggered a wonderful memory. Thank you.

Beautiful video but the bats fluttering at the bottom almost caused me to break my monitor swatting at the sudden "gnat" swarm.
