The days of April 14th through April 20th have usually been met with some historically bad news.

April 14, 1865: President Abraham Lincoln assassinated.
April 20, 1889: Adolf Hitler born.
April 18, 1906: San Francisco earthquake.
April 14, 1912: The Titanic sinks.
April 19, 1993: Branch Davidian compound raid Waco, Texas.
April 19, 1995: OKC bombing.
April 20, 1999: Columbine.
April 16, 2007: Virginia Tech.
April 20, 2010: BP oil spill.
April 15, 2013: Boston Marathon.

Not a complete annual list as you can tell by the 80 year gap between Leo and the Kool-Aid gang, but history likes to throw a wrench into the works right about now.

Here's hoping we can dodge that wrench this year.

edit on 11-4-2020 by Psilocyborg because: If you can dodge a wrench you can dodge a comet.

Yeah, that was terrible, jogging is silly.

Or did you mean the Boston bombing instead?

April 15, every year: Tax Day

April 12, 1981: Space Shuttle Columbia first launched
April 20, 1972: Carmen Electra’s Birthday,

so it is not all bad...I could go on and on but history is full of ups and downs. A girl I dated on and off in high school has her birthday on March 15. This year I told her sorry that it looks like the zombie apocalypse this year. My birthday is December 29, same as the Massacre at Wounded Knee, which pretty much ended the Indian Wars in the US at the cost of 200 women and children.

This is just another interesting time in history. What looks bad or even hopeless can lead to different developments such as normalization of distance learning, homeschooling, telecommuting, etc. Don’t forget that StarLink is supposed to come online soon for low cost, high speed internet for everywhere.

April 14th, 1913 the greatest woman ever to grace my life was born: Helena Louisa Hiebert Elliott-

She taught me most everything I ever needed to know about survival and living off the land, about plants and animals, about compassion and charity, about love and life...

She was my Granny! May she ever watch over us and smile down upon us all!

Ooh.

April 19, 1943

Chemist Albert Hoffman experiences the world's first acid trip while cycling home from work.

Life can throw us monkey wrenches as well as a bone.
