Oh okay.
I am still in a happy lovely mood this lovely weekend so thank you, I absolutely understand your points, and I have no wish to create any further conflict with you or anyone else who has been negatively affected emotionally by my joke post in the joke forum.
I wish you a mood as warm as mine is right now, and a lovely finish to your weekend ❤️

...and off topic but check out the dress in my new avatar, pure beauty...over 4K though so I won't be buying it! 🤣

Thank you for your well wishes and I too am in a lovely happy mood.

It’s Thanksgiving here today, and I have so many things to be grateful for.. my faith being one of them.

On the off topic remark the dress isn’t my style and I definitely wouldn’t pay 4 grand for it. It makes me sad to see people waste their money on extravagant purchases ( many dresses cost much more).. when there are so many struggling to pay for necessities. But I guess that’s the way of our world for some.

Have a nice day Daisy 😊

Oh happy thanksgiving ☺️
I absolutely love the dress lol, but like you I wouldn't pay 4 grand 😱
There will be something similar for less than £100 in the market stalls or independent local stores soon lol, just a pity made by poor people overseas for a dollar a day or something...perhaps that is something for a new thread from me because yes, I always feel the guilt, but can't afford any British made clothes to be honest.
Thoughts I shall not pollute the joke forum with though 😢

Its not a bad book, but for its age, it did stand the test of time. Which I suppose just means its still around I quess.

But so are other stories from older civilizations and peoples. In the first part, its just tribal codes and tribal mentalities, and tribal ethics, and tribal codes of conducts. At that time there was not a single tribe on the planet that ha not at the least done one or two genocides here and there. So, its just a reflection of that.

The second part? Was written some time after the waning of tribes, and so had to be done in a whole new light. However, man created god, not the other way around, and so eventually the whole paradigm had to be changed. And we got, science. A whole new religion, which is still going strong in some parts of the world at least.

But on that book, so grandly named the book. Its not bad, not the best book to ever be written that's for sure, and for its time, it served its purpose, but people will be people. And so...We come to today's age. Were the best selling books are 50 shades of grey, and the harry potter novels.

Which off course speak volumes on the peoples of today.

Good points 👍
Lol at the 50 shades and Harry Potter thing, I get ya. I'm currently reading Thomas Hardy's Jude The Obscure, published 1895, it's a fantastic read so far ☺️

Never heard of the book. Almost makes me want to ask, what kind of weird and kinky # you reading.

But then published in 1895? Cant be that bad. And a short google latter.

Oh ya, way and more far off then 50 shades of gray can ever be. Two books, I will likely never read. But hey. There's a book out there for everyone. Even the bible, while it may not be for everyone, its got its ups, and its downs.

Haha! I haven't read 50 shades, that seems to be about domination and sex mostly from reviews I've seen. Jude the obscure is a social commentary of the class system back then, aspirations, love, and love lost. Hardy writes beautifully and his descriptive style captivates me, I can completely image the scene and emotions as I read it 👍

...as for the Bible, I prefer James Herbert for my horror 😉😁

Well I know its a movie and a book. But I take that back what I said on saying about those two books saying about people. The harry potter books I ques, It seems to be spreed out among the genders. But really I dont know of one guy that read or watched 50 shades of gray. Just googled is and it sold over 125 million copies just by 2015, and its big seller in Brittan.

So! Ya. That's a lot of women who bought the book. Since I cant think of one guy who actually even knows what it is, much less watched the movie or read the book. But then again, dont know of many guys who read anymore anyways.

But anyways, I take back what I said about the book you said. I just did a quick google on it last time, and something about a dude who wants to be a yada yada, like some chick named Arabela, then she dumps him then something about hooking up with his sister or who knows what, and then he....

And I kind of drifted off from there on other stuff on the net.

But ya. Never say never, who knows maybe one day will read it as well. I think I have a list somewhere of books I am going to get to eventually at some point. Likely many years from now.

But I am also thinking that reading may be bad for you. So its a good thing I cut down on that stuff years ago. Now only need to cut down on the internet as that is starting to fill with junk as well.

Reduce and Refine I guess.

I ran into that saying some months ago from watching a youtube video about some guy whacking at things with his knifes, and one thing lead to another, and eventually it lead into to philosophy, the philosophy of things that need to be knifed, and eventually, to reduce and refine, and other such various important life matters.

Etc. Etc.Etc....

But ya! Read away, I for one, think your review of the bible. Was not bad. Even though you know technically when it was first put together and then eventually at one point recopied and recopied by monks then eventually published, more then half the world thought words were a form of magic, and that the potato was the devils fruit because it came from under the ground, and other such wondrous things.

And well. So ya. Read away.

Haha thank you ☺️
It takes all sorts to make a world doesn't it.
I still prefer reading with paper pages not a screen, doesn't need batteries, and helps my eyes get sleepy when tucked up in bed. I tried a kindle but couldn't get on with it, just not the same for me as a real book.
I wonder if we'll ever reach a future when books are specialist expensive items and the masses only look at screens, its already happening in UK schools.
I guess that's another story though...

Could be. Or at least, till technology busts. In some ways, paper while it sounds counter intuitive, may outlast digital data in some cases. A freaking extra big fart from the sun in our general direction, could put this digital fad back into the dark ages again as most digital will be fried.

And ya, I get you on the whole makes you eye watery. For reasons, staring at a book reading and staring at a screen reading are two different things, even though there the same thing. Well the second seems to be worse for your eyes, for sure. And just seems weird.

Ups and downs I suppose. Everything out there has them.

I'm so old skool my phone only does calls and SMS, no calendar or organiser, so I always have a small note book and pencil in my bag 😂
...and pencil because pens can fail, always got a small knife on my keyring to sharpen it 👍

I got those little led mechanical pens around here. And a bunch of little plastic extra pen led refill boxes. Those stupid mechanical pens break all the time. So much so that I have had the same refill led boxes, from over 15 years ago.

They never figure out how to make a mechanical pencil that does not break, or stop working, its usually the push button that fails if not that then its something else. Maybe one day will buy a new more expensive mechanical pen, that lasts longer then a few days.

Just so that way I can finally use up all those little containers full of extra lead refills.
