Maybe it's just Mandella Effect but I seem to recall some scientist had already implanted gills in a rabbit. I distinctly remember seeing a white rabbit in an aquarium munching on something as fish were swimming by.

Of course, the first thing scientists need to develop is a thermal exhaust port that doesn't lead straight to the main reactor. Put a P-trap or some baffling in there, for God's sake.

Nobody would’ve believed that a snubfighter would be able to get past the space stations defenses and then skim the trench and line the shot up. It only worked because Luke used the Force. Also Galen Erso made that so it would be exploited. He was horrified at what he had to create.

What you are trying to do as an Author ... is to take other peoples ideas and make something of them.

If you want ideas then read Sci-Fi books, lots of them.
