My lady and I have been considering opening a studio where you are taught to build your own acoustic guitar and lessons to play it. I used to build back in the day and still have an inventory of fine aged exotic wood and all the equipment.

Or perhaps a pottery studio catering to the 420 demographic; Mfg, wholesale, retail....

This looks like a perfect location.

Thank you....and we could still keep the LLC operating in the Land of Enchantment plus the union gigs.

but there is a possibility the survivalist may be correct that the Shtf...event is about to happen. I'd rather watch it on TV from a nice little osteria ..

I'm inspired.

I may open a shop where the patrons get to turn themselves into sausage. Save me some work and I can make a few bucks too...

That's not a half bad idea. I've been making guitars as well as other things out of wood for years; since about 18 years old. I'm 60 now and looking for something to supplement my income when I do decide to retire...

Not that I would steal your idea but I think it's creative and might help get me thinking outside the box a little.

I like the guitar studio idea. I can sort of see doing quasi academic units on various subjects as you progress through the build, e.g. Phythagoras as applies to the spacing of the frets. A nerdy guy like me would love it. The immediate downside I see is that is a small market.

I built an autoharp BitD...I believe these days it's being neglected by my nieces in PA. Still have plans and would like to build some more out of some cherry I have curing out back.

Like many inveterate guitar players, I have my modest collection of Stew-Mac that, sadly, mainly sits around these days. I'm looking at a beautiful straightedge as I type. But I did a fretboard plane, fret job, and new nut & saddle on an unplayable Kentucky mando belonging to my cousin-in-law. The instrument came out playable.

Well. Can I have a job?

I've looked into becoming a male "escort"
So far all that's happened is a general understanding of the term starving artist.

Maybe I could move there and start up a spirit cooking workshop. Hustle placentas on the side.

A man can dream.

I would welcome the competition!! I've been in business a very long time and it's been my experience that a community of creatives is not only inspirational, but is beneficial when it come to exchange of raw material and gear.

A rising tide float all boats....

Job? you would be a partner in a co-op. The reality is, that we can't compete with the Chinese. I bought a great upright bass, delivered from China for under $700usd and only had to reinforce the foot. Strung with a fresh set of weedwhackers and it's gig ready; thru my old Gallien-Krueger, psycho billy heaven!!! I still love my slab bass built from a pallet 30+ years ago.

Build to play is an aesthetic experience not just a way to acquire a product.

Best be careful, the liberal nanny state is gonna ream you hard -

internationalliving.com...

As things stand, the personal income tax rate can be as much as 43% for high earners. Italy has a multitude of taxes, so if you are thinking of carrying out any form of business here, we highly recommend that you seek professional guidance from a tax accountant ( commercialista).

That didn't work out too well for that German guy.. They arrested him.

Just goes to show, you can't even invite someone over for dinner, these days.

What does your gut tell you to do?
We only regret the opportunities that we should have taken but didn't.
I have seen you passionate about many things over the years....
Go for it if it feels right.

Thanks, and you know, I believe that that's true. I also brew beer and a while back was thinking of opening a brewery. I had a restaurant owner that wanted to do it with me. Well, I decided against it because I has young children and didn't think I'd have the time for 2 full time jobs. My boss at my day job was brewing too and he went ahead and opened one smack dab in the middle of a town with numerous other breweries already established. He tells me that its the way they do things too. Everybody kind of helps each other out.

Quite true, however I have to take into consideration my business partner, who is also my lady and significant other and the financial genius I rely on to keep our various LLCs viable. We never plan to retire because the entrepreneurial spirit is an interracial part of our relationship. I get called a socialist, communist because of my progressive politics but we are the consummate capitalist. She is also SAG, IATSE working in the biz but as we get older, those 14, 16 hr. days kick our ass. I just finished a project where we worked 24hrs straight as the location had a time limit. Experimental Feature film made in 2 days with gopros and theater talent, not movie people. Already sold to Netflix.

Blessed to have options most folks don't have. Livin the dream....

Huh..

Just a bit of self-awareness on the topic.. Its not like Im doing any of that, so what grounds do I have to ask it of others?

None, no grounds!

But, Im gonna go ahead and expect it anyway

I would particularly appreciate some fun artistic license in the vids, with a fun mix of fiction and shop functions & processes. I would think thats right up your alley olaru..

It is...check your inbox. Sent you a teaser we are trying to find an exprod. for. I think it's against the T&C to ask you for money.
