The People's Republic of China has a poor humans rights record. It is in possession of weapons of mass destruction.

Hypothetically speaking, could the USA/a US-led Coalition completely invade/colonize China today or in the near future?

What kind of costs are we looking at? Ballpark figure? Timescale? Arguably, it'll be much more difficult than SSA (Sub Saharan Africa) or Afghanistan or Iraq, but still...

Let us take a trip into the hypothetical for a moment. If a US-led Coalition were to completely invade/colonize, how could it be done? Bear in mind, that although China regularly holds drills etc, it has not actually partaken in major modern conflicts in the modern-day era.

EDIT:

The US-led Coalition involves:

- The United States of America
- The Dominion of Canada
- The Commonwealth of Australia
- The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
- The Republic of Austria
- The Republic of Finland
- The Republic of Poland
- The French Republic
- The Belgian Republic
- The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
- The Federal Republic of Nigeria
- The Republic of The Niger
- The Kingdom of Spain
- The Kingdom of the Netherlands
- The Republic of Kazakhstan
- The Republic of India
- The State of Japan
- The Republic of India
- The Republic of Korea
- The Republic of Iraq
- The Commonwealth of Poland
- The Republic of Ireland
- The Argentine Republic
- The Republic of Colombia

There is no way that any coalition could invade and conquer China without resorting to the use of nuclear/biologic/chemical weapons on a large scale.

Why would all those countries hypothetically invade China?
Canada would be hard pressed.

They said the same thing about "Africa", that continent down there...written records do have a way with words...

China isn't Africa.
China has a huge and very well educated population with access to modern weapons.

"Huge and very well educated population"

They do, do they?

Also, defense spending pales in comparison to the USA. Their air force is much smaller. They only hace one aircraft carrier. Their navy is much, much smaller. It's not exactly "a force to be reckoned with".

Compared to Africa, Yes they do.
China, a country, has over 100 million more people than the continent of Africa.

But again, "Africa" wasn't one single country with one single homogenous group.

Correct, China is one country that has a population that exceeds the population of the whole continent of Africa by 100 million.

Sure. If you also look at my above post, you'll see that I mentioned that their defensive force pales in comparison to the United States etc.

Also, China hasn't even been in large modern conflicts like the US and other countries, albeit conducting drills and exercises...

EDIT: Also, the average height of Chinese people is much, much lower, indicating poor nutrition and poor growth.

They could. But it would still be at the cost of huge amounts of Chinese citizens lives. Destroying infrastructure, taking out their power grid would kill off equal numbers of people probably.

Your post reminds me of a quote from a famous Nazi, referring to the United States:

You may be underestimating the capabilities of the Chinese.

To colonize would be a daunting task that would also take the lives of many members of the hypothetical coalition.

It's easy to colonize when the original inhabitants are nearly all dead. What percent of the Chinese population would live after a year without any power in the country?

If all those countries just cut off food exports to China. We could probably kill a lot of them off without dropping any bombs.

Probably more than would survive in the US in a similar situation. Some people used to laugh about the Chinese still using coal fired steam locomotives for their trains.
