It's always an honor to met with a Head of state

It is not honorable to be a suck up to known murderers, assassins, terrorist and torturers, ever.

Would it be an honor for Trump to meet with Maduro?

Yes. It would probably be a good step towards deescalating the tensions between America and Venezuela.

A couple of years ago you leftists were all for peace and diplomacy. Now you're the most hawkish of warmongers. Remarkable.

Barack Obama was awarded a Nobel Peace Prize (twice!) for reducing threats from some country. I Don't recall which one at the moment though.

Apparently there was a "scuffle" ........ 😎😃

White House press secretary in extraordinary 'brawl' with Kim Jong Un's minders: Aide pushes henchmen aside and yells 'go, go' at US camera crew trying to film Trump's historic visit to North Korea

Stephanie Grisham, 42, came out of meeting with bruises following scuffle between reporters and security

Jostling grew intense as reporters tried to enter room inside Freedom House on the south side of Panmunjom

President Trump took the historic walk from the DMZ into North Korean territory to meet Kim Jong-un today

Pair greeted each other with handshake and President Trump hailed as 'courageous' by North Korean leader
😃

I thought you were going to start a combo thread about our great President Trump being the U.S. President to meet the NK Leader on NK soil, and the first U.S. President to meet with both NK and SK leaders simultaneously, at the DMZ.

Really? What do you think Trump could say that would deescalate tensions other than to acknowledge Maduro's leadership as head of state? Threaten to obliterate Venezuela?

No way did Obama supporters encourage him to meet with Kim Jong Un or Il. If he had he would have been crucified by the right. Oh how things have shifted when it's a right wing guy.

Obama only won the Nobel Prize once, so far.

The 2009 Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to United States President Barack Obama for his "extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between people". [1] The Norwegian Nobel Committee announced the award on October 9, 2009, citing Obama's promotion of nuclear nonproliferation [2] and a "new climate" in international relations fostered by Obama, especially in reaching out to the Muslim world .

Obama accepted the prize in Oslo on December 10, 2009. In a 36-minute speech, he discussed the tensions between war and peace and the idea of a "just war"[5] saying, "perhaps the most profound issue surrounding my receipt of this prize is the fact that I am the Commander-in-Chief of the military of a nation in the midst of two wars."[6]

Obama is the fourth President of the United States to have won the Nobel Peace Prize (after Theodore Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson and Jimmy Carter, with Carter's honor happening after leaving office).

It would seem to be a positive situation for the two to meet and talk. Doesn't mean anything positive for the NK people or a reduction in border tension will emerge. Maybe Trump will have a good effect on this leader.

So you had to look it up for why Obama received the peace prize?

That means everyone even Obama supporters knew his peace prize was just an empty worthless praise, and not having any real value, otherwise it would be remembered without the need to "look it up" for what it was for.

Maduro holds the position of elected President of Venezuela. He won the election, mostly because his opposition refused to vote and boycotted the election. Not a smart way to win an election. Imagine if Hillary supporters boycotted the 2016 election, then tried to get the military to overthrow Trump?

The bottom line is that it is unfitting for the President of the United States of America to share a global stage as an equal to a despot that represents everything the United States opposes, legitimizing their rule and reinforcing terrorism.
