Capitalism has not only divided the country, it messed up the civilian sector. The reason why China is building so fast is because the Gov got involved with tech sector and force released it to public. US is not doing that because it is not profitable. It is hiding it all for the military. Instead of competing to fix the country, people are competing for profit. If something cannot be profitable, it will not be released. China stealing all our jobs they say. Wonder why every companies are using outdated and inefficient machines?

While China has all those high tech efficient machines and gadgets? Their researching for the survival of the country. West, especially US is only researching for the survival of the military only. US companies have already shut down or merge with a lot of European countries so they can't have any tech advantage. You have to wonder why Europe is running to China for tech esp Germany. Those tech US shut down are only used for military purpose, not civilian. China does both.

Bad tech needs to be thrown away, newer less pollutant tech needs to be given green light. Same can be said for Russia though, but Russia is currently ruled by Russian oligarchs who have no idea what to do. You can see the obvious when they bought TVR car company. It is called efficient tech. Just like how Europe forced US car makers to research cars that use less gas to compete. Less gas = less pollution = less profit. The cleaner the tech, the more efficient and the less profitable from other sources.

Seems like all new inventions are just stupid gadgets and people get boners for them.

At this rate, it will be sex toy companies who will introduce a proper android to the public.

Make something green that costs less without subsidizing it and without putting taxes on the old tech. I will buy what is cheapest and saves me the most 'green'. Nothing should be subsidized by the Government, not oil, not green tech and not agriculture. Let everything stand on its own merit and I will buy the most cost-effective solution.

So if government forcing is how the environment is saved, explain why China is such an ecological disaster. They don't seem to be building for their country's future at all in that sense. Russia under the Soviets sure weren't either. There are large parts of the former USSR that are ecological wastelands where the people are still suffering profound health effects even today. Go find the Aral Sea on a map ... that's right, you can't because the Soviets destroyed it trying to modernize for the future of their country.

LOL, some title. No, a more meritocritis society might work. The quotas have end, we have equality, equity is ridiculous and just reinforces some people are less capable or just plain stupid. Giving people tech they don't know how to use properly is creating a problem, I see it every day.

The problem is the deliberate and malicious dovisiveneas that is being promoted. Want to make things better? Get everybody to work tiogether under the constitution and the rule of law. Stop trying to throw them aside.

The scale at which it is done in the West, and in China, is not on the same level. It's like comparing the homicide rate of Chicago with a small midwest town. Yes, both have homicides, that doesn't make them equal.

China steals much of its technology from the US.

Yeah, technological reform is needed. Send all the technology to the landfill and life will be much more simple in the United States. We are so connected to the rat race, we cannot just chill out. At least when I was 18, I would go to the bar and dance to a live band and mingle with lots of people. Now a Dating app is needed, then some cyber spying is needed to properly stock someone in social media, then people have to choose who they want to go out with and sort out the lies on their profile. Then in two weeks a date is set up only to find you do not like what the person looks like and acts like in person.

All that can be done by asking a girl to dance one time in a bar. If she thinks there is something there, she says yes to a second dance, then you can ask her if she wants breakfast or supper the next day. If she makes a fuss about the service of the restaurant, then maybe the two of you are incompatable if you think it was fine...or vice versa. That is how we did it back in the seventies. I met my wife in a laundromat and asked her there if she wanted to go next door for a drink....it was a strip bar in mid afternoon, no dancers though. I bought her a drink and we talked and I called her the next day and we went for breakfast the morning after that.

Technology is complicating things these days, not making it easier. If I was not chatting here, I would be out at a restaurant having coffee with friends I met in person. Or I would be getting some wood and build a campfire since the snow is now mostly gone around it and cook hotdogs and sip on some coffee around the fire. How much simpler and relaxing is that.

Technology does not make our lives easier. Especially when they keep changing it and we have to learn to use the new techology every couple of years.
