I'm so sorry to hear this Dave! Hopefully it is a temporary setback. Praying for a better outcome.

Thinking about y'all and sending up prayers everyday, Dave. Your stiff upper lip and encouragement to others is pretty dang commendable. As heartbreaking as the circumstances are, it's been impressive and an honor getting to know you better, Brother.

Linda was very 'flat' today.

The past two days she did not recognise anyone and her constant struggle was absent.

CT and EEG scans were done with results in tomorrow am.

Not pre-empting anything.

Just hoping for the best ...

Hopefully it is only a mild medicine side effect and not anything worse. Sometimes meds will knock patients for a loop, they are out of it for a while.

I was hoping she would be returning home shortly. There may be therapies to go to after she finally gets somewhat better and gets to go home. I'll keep on praying she gets better quickly.

No real answers at this stage.

They have performed a lumbar puncture today, to relieve pressure on the brain. She only stirred a little while ago and is still not speaking or reacting to commands.

She is in the best place with great nursing staff, so patience is called for. It is tough but I have no choice.

At least the CT and EEG scans showed nothing untoward.

Again, the support of everyone is greatly appreciated.

Much thanks!

This is so heartbreaking to read. I apologize for not being too much around in this thread, it is... i somehow can't handle when bad things happen to good people. But i think about you both every day anyway

Now I have my stepmother calling me about my ageing Father who has suffered a stroke and parkinsons disease( battling such for 10 years in which time I have done more than one mercy dash), who is now suffering heart issues.

She thinks it is a good time for me to drive 5 hours away to see him.

My head hurts.

It never rains but it pours.

Did you get the impression that your Father is near his end? Would this be your last chance to say goodbye? The timing sucks. I wish you much inner strength at this even more difficult time.

Yep.

The same impression I had the last few times.

These are the same people that spent 3 days out of nearly three years visiting my Son Cam who succumbed to leukaemia aged nearly six ...

20 years ago, coincidently ...

Sorry to vent ... I'll utilise the social worker who has offerred an ear at the hospital where my days are spent.

Horse walks into a bar.

Bartender says ...

Why the long face !??

ED: Amended the time frame to 20 years. I am not a geriatric.

Quite.

Awww, man, that's terrible! Sorry to hear it.

Given what is going on with your beloved wife today, I'd say your time is best spent with her, but this is just my view from afar.

Perhaps you could just communicate some nice thoughts to your stepmom and let her know your thoughts are with them, but you, unfortunately, have more urgent matters to attend to. Just my take.

In any case, our most heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with you.

Oh my!
What a conundrum.
Hope that you are keeping afloat, as best you can.

Are you able to get-out into nature for 20-30 mins per day?
Even if it's just sitting in a quiet city park, or by a duck-pond.

Sending positive vibes, for you and your loved-ones.
