Linda is much more alert and speaking quite clearly today. She is also moving her left arm and foot ... which is excellent !

She is still suffering from confusion and has it in her mind that she wants ice cream with freshly brewed espresso coffee poured on it !
( she grew up with her step dads Italian family )

What an excellent birthday gift !!

😁

Indeed it is WIS !

She is out of ICU and in a ward now ... Still lots of care and attention. She has only had about 2 hrs of broken sleep in 2 days and is a little delirious.

She is like the energiser bunny !!

I read recently that ICU is the most common place for delirium.
Actual sleep is pretty much mandatory.

Cherry Blossoms came out just today. May be restful.

The energizer bunny. LOL

Eventually it will catch up to her and she will sleep normally.

The energiser bunny sleeps !

After being admitted to a ward yesterday, Linda was delirious due to her injury combined with a lack of sleep.

The distress she was experiencing lessened as late afternoon came.
The rapid response team was called as her heart decided it wanted some attention as well !
Her monitor showed she was tachycardic with BP 190/140.

She was given potassium and magnesium and an unpronouncable drug whilst being closely monitored.
It was decided to move her to a ward which specialises in heart stuff.
Her numbers returned to normal before she was moved, thankfully.

I left before she was transferred as she was calm, reasonably alert and comfortable.
I checked on her about midnight and she was resting comfortably with no further issues.

Upon phoning this morning, the Nurse informed me that she was sleeping soundly ! At last ...

I'll be heading in again today, Friday and looking forward to my Son Blake coming up this evening after work.

Cheers gang !

Hey you, that made me tear up, it must have been terrifying. Thank God they caught it. And then I smiled, I am thrilled for you that she is resting well. Sleep is a healer.
Now you get some rest too , Sir.
WIS Hugs.

Thanks WIS !

I am being sure to eat well and get as much rest as I can. ( It can be tricky to switch off the steady stream of thoughts when in bed. Repeating a mantra helps .. )

Glad to hear that Linda has finally been able to sleep and is comfortable. I'm glad that you are looking after yourself and will soon have the company of your Son. Continued prayers and well wishes.

You could try some chamomile, either tea or capsules.
It helps to relax....

herbal sleep time tea is a good idea as well as melatonin.

Sounds like a good idea !

I'll look into it with her speech therapist. They decide on the type of food and drink she can have. At the moment she is restricted to thickened drinks and pureed food ( yuck ) maybe the capsules could work.

Thanks DTOM !

Linda has been unresponsive for the best part of the day.

They have taken her for a CT scan. Waiting for the results ... feeling anxious.
