Prosecutors in Palm Beach County, Florida, have offered New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft a chance to avoid prosecution for soliciting prostitution and having his charges dropped, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday.

Called deferred prosecution, it would require that Kraft admit that he could be proved guilty at trial.

It is unclear whether Kraft will accept the agreement.

The proposed deferred prosecution deal comes with caveats: completion of an education course about prostitution, 100 hours of community service, screening for sexually transmitted diseases and payment of some court costs.

But Kraft and his attorney would also review the evidence in the case and agree that if it were to go to trial, the state would be...

Florida prosecutors offer Patriots' Robert Kraft deal to drop solicitation charges

Justice prevails...justice for the rich that is.

I wonder what happened to trump's campaign against human sex traffickers? Will he be as adamant as he is about the claims of human sex traffickers from the south of the border? Or are sex traffickers from the 'East' ok... or maybe this was all fake news and trump and his billionare circles would never be involved in human sex trafficking..

Goal post about to be moved, or at least 'whataboutism' defense...

Any first time non-violent offender with no previous record would get the same deal. That's par for the course.

He will have to attend a prostitution class?

Unsure why prostitution = sex trafficking, since prostitution is legal in several countries and certain counties in Nevada.

Practiced everywhere in the world when someone wants to get laid and someone else is willing to for a price.

But anything to tie the two together because orange man bad?

John got caught, John gets offered deal with caveats, like attending classes, community service.

SoOo... the same thing that happens with most first-time offenders?

Normal punishment for a first time second-degree misdemeanor, soliciting for sex in Florida...

Solicitation of a prostitute is a second-degree misdemeanor for a first violation, which could mean up to 60 days in jail, a fine of up to $500 or both. A second offense is considered a first-degree misdemeanor, which could include up to one year in jail, a fine of up to $1,000 or both.

Hint: it's not that big a deal to anyone.

Hardly anyone goes to jail for a first time offense of being a "John"....

It should be legal and regulated like in Nevada.

Had Kraft took one of those chicks to dinner and then got a happy ending, it would then be called a date. Or maybe if he filmed it, then it would just be a home movie or "art".

I never as a woman understood why prostitution is illegal at all.

When I was a Democrat, I would ask my friends... "OK, so it's my body and I get to do whatever I want with it... except that?"

At the time I just figured that Republicans were mostly evangelical Christians so it was just being prudish on their part, so I sorta understood their position on it, at least.

SoOo... I can do something with another human being for free and it's just fine...

But if it turns into a private transaction between two parties, it's suddenly bad?

Somewhere along the line I came to the logical conclusion that it is pretty much impossible to impose a TAX on the transaction that would be able to be realistically collected.

Thus the law.

It's a stupid law... about as stupid as making a plant illegal.

I've never heard a logical argument as to why prostitution is illegal. Porn is perfectly legal if you film it while getting paid, but if you don't film it, then it is prostitution and now illegal. Makes zero sense.

Women freely admit to screwing and dating / marrying guys for money but if they claim they are in a "relationship" it is ok. However, if they just want a business transaction then it is prostitution.

I think people feel inaquite so in jealousy they blame the rich

All that crap they are putting him through is a waste of time and money

I would make deals with many rich people because it’s better for society’s.

My deal would be for him to start a trust which would pay one worker in the free clinic
Or
That he has to pay for all of the std tests for x number of tests or x number of months

Yeah make him go to class saying that handy is wrong...yeah that’s what society needs

Perfectly normal
In the 70s I got a call from one of my best friends . From a jail in Fulton County. The charge ? Solicitation . Seems my friend had fallen for an "under cover" police officer. Soliciting a police officer .
Since he accepted their "deferred" prosecution , he got out at noon the next day after paying a small fine.

So , what you are saying is , because he is rich he should face stricter charges ?
Prison time ?
Why ?
Oh , I see. The green-eyed monster has gotten you..

Qh yes, I could imagine if it were a 'dem' affiliation who got caught getting service from a Chinese prostitute from a whorehouse where all the women are trafficked for sex, the laxed attitude would be the same.

I guess it's no buggy. Trump is buddies with the 'madam' so the goal post is getting a nudge

Prostitution now good. !

Yes actually it is. My friend got setup on a bicycle when he was 19 and because he just said something slick, they charged him with soliciting prostitution. Nm that he didn't actually intended to bone her because he was not going to pay money he did not have. I think he was actually just being a smartass teenager honestly.

He was not in a felony courtroom so he was allowed to plea no contest, which is what this man in the op is pleading.
Lots of people get light sentences every day, it's usually the people who are just simply wise enough to hush up and say nothing until legal counsel has been consulted.

I think I his plea was even for a lower charge. Or maybe be it got there see, I don't remember??
I remember him being charged And nothing really coming from it.

Hmmm.
Wouldn't legalized prostitution make it harder for women to be trafficked here in the states?
I mean, if it was legal and well regulated, sure seems like it would help with the problem.

And knowing someone up here in the north, that has been busted for solicitation, yes, seems most states give you a slap on the wrist, the first time.

It would make it much harder for women to be exploited without consent. Sex trafficking is a thing because the women have no choice for fear of deportation and no other ways to make a living as most are illegals.

In addition, it would eliminate pimps and make it safer for both Johns and the worker. You wouldn't have workers dealing with weirdos and Johns would know that the women are at least clean and tested.

I'm sure there would still be some illicit brothels with crackheads doing favors for $5, but you aren't going to eliminate that unless you get rid of the addiction problem which is an entirely different subject.

You left out a key part of this story and that would be that the same plea deal was offered to all other 24 people nabbed in this operation.

Sort of changes the "man is always getting over" narrative.

Yes, it is. A sentence deal like this is typical. Look it up. Research the issue instead of just let your attitude get in the way.

This is a nothing charge, there is hardly ever any punishment, especially for a first offense. I would love you to source a first time offender typically gets the book thrown at them.
