Just found this video.

Suggestions to what it could be are a Drone, Laser Pointer, something on the lens or just a hoax. Anyone any ideas ?

The video says there is a link to the original footage.

I assume that is the footage direct from BT Sports channel.

I think that would be step one, try getting raw footage from the actual channel.

Flies like a drone when stopping to hover but the rest is orb like

The light morphed while hovering.....

A drone operator that's got a can on it and hopped up lights and a strobe aircraft quality......maybe

But the exit.....a drone would still be seen that close after killing the lights....

Orb till other proof.....my vote

I think it would be a hard sell to say its a laser pointer on the screen. At least if it was someone in the stands with one. Could be a drone but why cut the lights off? Can you turn the lights off on drones? I would think they would not have that option for safety reasons. Yes I think the original footage that is better resolution would help in identification. I think it would give more depth. Looks like it might be further away and not over top of the field.

You can turn off your approach lights, but not your orientation lights on most drones.
That is unless it's homemade.
Then you can do what you want.

I was thinking that also but there doesn't appear to be an overhead cam at the football ground.

See full match in following videos.

1st Half

2nd Half

Full Match

If you look at the "UFO" portion it wasn't taken during the actual match. The players are in training bibs and some are in leggings. This looks like pre-match or the substitutes warming up during half time. Looks like someone using a drone during this warm-up.

This footage was taken at 2030 PM. That was during half time when the substitutes were warming up on the pitch.

Half time was 2020 pm. The 2nd half kicked off at 2035 pm

Looks like a hoax. Someone bored at half time during the game! If you watch from 1:00 you will hear a click when the light goes out at 1:05.

If you also watch at 0:47 the light briefly appears on screen as the light/pointer is switched on. Obviously this person re-positions it, switches it on and drags it down from the top of the screen.

The OP's video was a filmed off of a TV screen (you can seen the edge of the TV at the :45 mark).

So if it were a laser pointer, it could have been pointed at the TV screen, and was never really part of the actual broadcast.

You also have to take into consideration the crowd at the match. It was listed as 1,832.

If the UFO has really been there then there would have been more footage and it would have been all over social media.

The crowd announced - 1832 - not bad at all.

It's not one of those, only the big stadiums have those. My club (Liverpool) has only just recently installed one, they are an expensive bit of kit, no way is there one in that ground. That ground is tiny and is home to a team in the 5th tier of English football named Boreham Wood (And also Arsenal ladies as seen in the video shown) and it's called Meadow Park, we can safely rule that out.

Picture of the place:

It's either a drone, fake or an actual UFO.
