People always like to claim fame for things that they didn't create. Take the Hamburger, it was invented in America but not by Americans-they were invented by german immigrants from-surprise surprise-Hamburg. Spagetti and meatballs? invented in America but not by Americans-thank the Italian immigrants. In Italy the rich got the meatballs, the poor got spaghetti but when the immigrants could afford both a legend was born. And don't get me started on operation paperclip.

But America does get credit for bottled dog water-I kid you not. Capitalism and stupidity go hand in hand.

Um so the whole reason why the USA had so many great inventors was because the best and the brightest sought refuge and a better life in the new world. German and Italian American inventors are American inventors.

Sure, you can go right ahead and say the US invented a lot of stuff.

A lot of that stuff is useless junk we don't need & it's not built to last anymore, though. Not much to brag about there, really. It's just instant gratification consumerism filler fluff. A shopaholic's version of a candy addiction -- they're equally useless to life in general other than a quick pick-you-up.
