A lot of diy conversions just put fork lift motors onto the input shaft of a manual tranny and ride around in 2nd all day.

No reason you couldn't use a larger motor and keep shifting up for more speed... Just means less range.

I know engines but not tranny.

So I’m a little confused.

Still slower than gasoline cars.

Pretty sure that is doctored sound. 200 MPH is fast but it just sounds suspiciously juiced up for added effect.

I have... the pick up is impressive, and I've never driven an electric car... but I've seen them take off!

I couldn't imagine an "800" HP vet's power...

Yes. I've also heard an electric car going 60 and I don't think 3 times the speed is going to add up to 50 times the sound. An electric car doing 60 does not sound anything like a forklift doing 5.
