Little Dinosaurs

I've not been around much here (for many reason) - Here's one of the reasons I'm pretty happy with.

My little 'Dinosaurs'

They're called 'Maltese' pigeons - extremely rare - in fact the last 3 pairs I've been able to find in a year long search (here in America) are coming to my place this next week. (This next pic are not my birds).



They come nearly to my knee when standing. They're extremely loving to their mates. Oh, and the whole 'mate for life' - let's just say that's not all truth.

I'm looking forward to showing you all the squabs (chicks) these guys have - should be here within the next 20 days (hen is just laying).

You think these guys are freaky? You should see some of the other 'odd' pigeons out there. Let me see if I can find some good vids...

I eat pigeon all the time - it's incredible good.

These birds? Ahhhh, no. Would kind'a be like eating the last Woolly Mammoth or Yeti.

After reading the headline does anyone else have the theme to Jurassic Park stuck in their heads?

I've read an article on how certain birds could be classified as dinosaurs, Schwarzenegger pigeons i'm not so sure about.

Those are some fine looking birds you got there.

I tend to shoot things when they have those red demon eyes.

My boxers would have fun with one of those active chew toys.

Having fun with ya. that first picture of the purple birds is kind of neat. Funny birds.

I also initially thought from the photot that they were in a garage! "We're under attack! Deploy the pidgeons!!!" Beautiful birds. Birds and lizards and other neodinosaurs are fairly friendly when treated properly.

I'm so psyched! The pair I posted? She (was) a virgin hen and she's got 2 eggs under her now!

Yes I did (about the Rollers)...

I'm proud to say one of the members of our pigeon club was first in the Birmingham Roller Pigeon World Cup fly off - for quite a while over many other countries until the South Africans stepped up and nailed it.

Well done to your club.

My favourite birds are probably robins and blackbirds. They're not much to look at, but seem to have bags of character. Pigeons are overlooked too and especially when people get dazzled by the birds of paradise, colourful parrots or hummingbirds.

Yours are special pigeons and way more appealing than those in towns.
