We have this rampant disconnect herein with supporters of war mongerism and the costs of 'doing business' that they support and encourage.

I get its in poor taste, and some would even get off on it, to have people able to post blood & guts images of WAR all across the site.

But in RATS, in threads specific to war, could this be possible?

Its just not possible to convey the realities of WAR without being able to show such images, whereas some of my pokes at it herein over our eon it seems the MSM is less censored in such regards.

'All' human learning is based on consequences, where just showing a chart of the dollars a war costs doesnt jostle anyone so invested in aspirations of imperialism, not in the slightest. Therefore, I submit that, ATS is in certain regards is facilitating such madness, where we're supposed to the be vanguard against ignorance.

Seeing that I'll be one of those that will have to moderate said images, my vote would be no.

For the jadedness that comes with internalizing such imagery, I can see the apprehension to embracing such.

Yet here I'm trying to a handful of images help to prevent future body counts in the hundreds of thousands, if not millions in our name on our lack of a budget.

Where to insist on this form of ignorance helps ensure it all comes about.

The war mongering imperialists count on the human decency to avoid such as their means to ensure they can perpetrate it.

Well my job is to break their Patterns, as is the call of "denying ignorance".

There's a WAR unlike any before it, that will cost BILLIONS of lives (Gigadeath) in the future of all Homo sapiens if we dont all rise against it starting today...

Of course its no, everyone knows what war means, plenty of movies more than get the point across.
Publishing images of war is nothing more than glorification.
Publishing images of the dead or the dying is nothing more than offensive and although the offensiveness is exactly the trigger you hope would deter, deter it would not, only poison and run rampant in the minds of the weak.

While I kind of understand where you're coming from, I think you discredit the vast majority of members here to think that showing some gory images is going to make the difference (in changing existing view points let alone changing foreign policy). It's not that we don't know the kind of horrible hell that takes place during war, and I think for the bulk of us, we don't support our reasons for being involved in them in the first place. But outside of our own little bubbles of influence there really isn't a lot we can do to make any sort of dent in the colossus machine that is the military-industrial complex. Probably the same goes for the POTUS, whoever that may be, no matter their best intentions from the get-go - they're still beholden to the greater system that's been in place for many decades.

The point is, showing more damning images isn't going to be the difference that you seek.

Keep ATS free of gore. Some of us have seen things and don't need the reminders leaping out of threads.

IDK what's up with all the site questions this week but I gotta ask what problem would ATS have with Patton?

If they allow that, what's next? Gory pictures of car wrecks, abortions, beheadings?

It's not like you could post a link with a warning or anything

It's not about what you want, it's about not offending people who don't want to see the gore.

If you posting gore is the only chance the world has, then by all means, post it on sites that allow it.

Here though, see the rule you agreed to follow when you joined as a guide.

Question answered. Thread closed.
