3 weeks, for (say) 5,000 people who eat twice a day, that's roughly 210,000 meals. Who's paying for all of this? Even if it's beans and rice and only .50 /person, that's still over 100,000 dollars. Who's paying for all of this?

From what i've read a lot of Mexicans are sympathetic. At least at the beginning of the caravan they were feeding them, exactly like you mentioned rice & beans. One person even said something like; you guys today, maybe us tomorrow.
I think that pretty much sums up the Mexican sentiment!
