Actually, I would like to see a drastic expansion in nuclear power, as well as nuclear research to make Thorium viable among several other technologies, some of which exist, and some of which are still in development.

But if there is not enough people to spend money and buy homes, reason to build infrastructure etc etc we would be a ghost town. Anytime I go out the majority of the people I see out spending money are immigrant looking people, I can't call there immigration status for all I know they could all be illegal. Take away those people and the places I was at would be dead.

Native born Americans do not reproduce enough to keep our economy chugging along. There are pros and cons to our immigration problem. I'm sure there are parts of the country that are lagging and crumbling but most of the places I see are booming and coming up but people don't want to see the pros only complain about the cons.
