Just for fun...been tracking the Airbus Zephyr being tested not far from Yuma...going for the endurance record and is currently at 58600 feet...at 16 knots!!!

Not sure how long it can stay up before they have to change the battery pack due to the constant recharge cycles but as battery technology advances the loiter time will go up...very useful for certain tasks!!

The Sion cells they are using are supposedly good for about 300-400 cycles.

The actual issue is probably getting enough solar power during day to fully recharge them.

By chance is it the aircraft over the Yuma Proving Grounds at 60k ft callsign KELLEHER.
got a screenshot, but it won't upload to ATS. It's moving at 21mph.

I'm watching it on Flightradar24; it's not showing on ADS-B.
