That is incorrect. The president can obstruct. Whether he can be charged with a crime for that obstruction is another matter. And as we all know, obstruction can be the basis of, or part of, articles of impeachment.

and since McCabe testified to Congress Comey's termination did not affect any investigations that part of the investigation was bogus. Even more so since the DAG recommended termination.

Whether his actions affected the investigation or not is not as important as his intent. Did he intend to affect the investigation? Again, that is also part of the articles of impeachment for Nixon.

It would be obstruction if he fired Comey because of the "Russia thing" and not because of the recommendations made to him.

Intent appears to be very important in the matter of obstruction.
