Guess you've never been to a strip club, huh? Glitter does not behave properly and oddly ends up on people's clothes who weren't even at the strip club because they told their wife they were going to their friend Gene's house to have a beer and watch the baseball game.

Dude, girl code.

Did you actually go to the strip club?.

My old man's friend has three of those places and I've never been to any of them, and I certainly didn't go in the champagne room many times.

It's hard to get the perfume stink off too. It's like they use some sort of industrial grade J'Adore.

Mahahahaha

That was his alibi when he knocked over that convenience store and got glitter bombed.

I think that type of establishment is a bit more up market than the one I went to up north in England.
I had won 800 pound coins in a casino and we spent them all on the only girl who was working that night in the local strip joint.
It was all a haze but I remember commenting on her perfume and she told me while jiggling the funbags about "yeah 99p from Boots" (a chemist chain).

Put glitter on the guy. What stops him from turning around and shooting you?

Well I think discretion would need to be used if the person had a gun, especially if they were agitated or aggressive. We've seen people rob stores with a spoon in their pocket (acting like it was a gun) and I think some used a large soda cup (acting like it was an acid or something I guess.?). Many use a knife. Also when the person is fleeing and walking through the exit door, that is when they would get dusted/blasted and the clerk would probably be some distance away. I doubt many would turn around and attack a clerk if the other option was to flee and try to get away, though IDK the mentality of people who do these things.
As far as getting it on other people, I would think that the number of people entering or exiting the store the same time as a robber is pretty low, and again, the clerk can use their heads in cases.

I don't know why this story reminded me of this incident, but I guess they're related, though it wasn't a "robbery". It absolutely is hilarious though...and the perp can probably be ID'd to this day because of it.

A girlfriend I had once worked in this mom & pop convenience store on the edge of town. They used to get some real weird folks in this place at night. One night this creepy looking dude (in a trench coat no less) comes in and mills around for a while. My gf and another gal were working. This dude walks up to the checkout and puts a can of canned peas down on the counter like he's going to buy them. Then he whips open his trench coat (no lie here either) and flashes my gf's coworker then lays his (ahem) 'junk' down on the counter. Without even batting an eyelid my gf's coworker picked up that can of peas and slammed it down on the counter right on top of his junk!! Instant karma!

Flasher dude drops to the floor instantly and is curled up in the fetal position, shrieking in pain, until police and paramedics arrive. Flasher gets carted off to the ER, presumably to have his convenience store lizard re-attached / repaired, after which he goes to the grey-bar hotel.

No problem ID'ing this dude after the fact! True story too.

sounds like a great idea

Even if this isn't "The" idea, this train of thought could lead to it!

Good Lord!

Maybe she had never seen one before and thought he was releasing some kind of a... bio threat?

Security boxes have UV dyes which stain people's skin. Some of it is bright yellow or red and visible to anyone with eyes and other dyes are invisible until a black light is used. It's almost impossible to wash off and wears off after a few days.

Your idea seems reasonable. There'd need to be some way of spraying the robbers like spray nozzles facing customers.

I'm not sure how many storeowners or staff would use the spray in the USA. Robbers tend to have guns and spraying would be apt to piss them off. Best to let the insurance take care of it instead of risking a firearm discharge. Less so in most of Europe where robbers use hammers, large knives and/or bats.

It's maybe have more success in places like banks. As soon as staff hit the shutter buttons the wannabe robbers get drenched in day-glo and UV paint. There'd need to be a back-up plan for bystanders who'd be instantly orange.

...or gun turrets.

It would have to be mounted in the doorframe and activated just as they run out. The assistant could press an "ARM" button, and then it would be triggered by a light beam that is broken. The spray would be a fine mist barely noticeable.
