I think it's more of a backlash against gangs in general, but this is perfectly good gang to begin with. They have direct connections to the Mexican cartels, they are huge, international in scope, are involved in everything from drugs to human trafficking....

Trumps remarks seemed to indicate or have been perceived has him talking about "all" immigrants, or a larger immigrant demographic.

They've been around for a while. I remember hearing about them years ago...possibly decades ago.
