Dimwit question from a dimwit:

Where are all of the protections and immunity deals? Not saying they are needed or right for that matter, just curious.

The Hill - Gowdy: Memo has no impact on Russia probe

"There is a Russia investigation without a dossier. So to the extent the memo deals with the dossier and the [Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act] process, the dossier has nothing to do with the meeting at Trump Tower. The dossier has nothing to do with an email sent by Cambridge Analytica."

He added that the dossier has "nothing to do with George Papadopoulos's meeting in Great Britain."

"It also doesn't have anything to do with obstruction of justice. So there's going to be a Russia probe, even without a dossier," he said.

Yes, there would have been a Russian probe without the Dossier - when you look at all the people involved in the FBI/DOJ it was going to happen anyway because they were all corrupt.

The point is, the fake Dossier (that they knew was fake) was presented as evidence (illegally) to spy on a presidential campaign.

That's a massive crime there that you seem to want to ignore in favor of the ''Russians are coming Russians are coming nonsense''

It would also increase the pressure to cooperate on Gates' co-defendant Paul Manafort, Trump's former campaign chairman, who has pleaded not guilty to Mueller's indictment and is preparing for a trial onalleged financial crimes unrelated to the campaign.

That's a grade A NOTHING BURGER.

Unrelated to the campaign.

You might have missed this news

For months, court-watchers -- including Gates' own attorneys -- have anticipated additional charges against the defendants. Superseding indictments, which would add or replace charges against both Gates and Manafort, have been prepared, according to a source close to the investigation. No additional charges have been filed so far. When there is a delay in filing charges after they've been prepared, it can indicate that negotiations of some nature are ongoing.

In OTHER interesting News:
Bannon interviewed for 20 hours in Mueller probe, as House investigators' get stonewalled

Bannon answered every question that was put to him by Mueller's team. That's in contrast to a Thursday interview with the House intelligence committee, where Bannon declined to answer some of lawmakers' questions, despite a subpoena.

Manafort will be next to flip.

Lord, the things Mueller must know at this stage.

Oh, so the FBI/DOJ is responsible for Papadopoulos being a) targeted by the SVR and b) running his mouth to an Australian diplomat? "Corrupt" folks in the DOJ/FBI hired Kremlin stooge Paul Manafort to run Trump's campaign and then forced him to at least try to peddle influence to the Russians? The FBI/DOJ setup the Trump Tower meeting? The FBI/DOJ forced Flynn to call Kislyak to undercut Russian sanctions imposed by the Obama administration and lie about it? They must have also gotten him to illegally lobby for Turkey?

What else are they responsible for? Hacking the DNC, DCCC, a number of GOP state campaign sites and an old RNC email server, probing election-related websites in 21 states, phishing John Podesta's emails, etc?

I suppose Strzok was running tens of thousands of Twitter bots too right? And Andrew McCabe shoved his hand up Trump's ass and moved his lips like a puppet? And it was Lisa Page, not Michael Cohen who was running around emailing Putin's spox for help with the Trump Tower Moscow deal and hand delivering a Kremlin-endorsed "Ukrainian Peace Plan" (which included kompromat on the current Ukrainian admin)?

I can keep going if you want to keep pretending.

The point is, the fake Dossier (that they knew was fake) was presented as evidence (illegally) to spy on a presidential campaign.

1. The dossier wasn't presented as evidence — illegally or otherwise. In fact, the dossier wasn't what was in the FISA warrant app if you've read the Grassley-Graham memo (or use common sense). What was in the FISA warrant app was the raw intel/details about, it pertaining to Carter Page, that was summarized in those portions of the dossier.

There's also nothing illegal about using that information as long it was not intentionally misrepresented to the FISC judge (which would be perjury). There's also been exactly 0 evidence that suggests that the FBI/DOJ used anything from Steele that they believed to be false.

2. The campaign wasn't spied on. A FISA warrant for Carter Page was obtained a month after he'd left the Trump campaign.

'Spy on a presidential campaign aid', who had a FISA warrant applied and upheld multiple times prior to the Dossier coming out. You do know the subsequent FISA authorizations prior to the Dossier would only have been continually renewed if they were actually getting useful (and damning) intelligence.

You're missing some details here. They had FISA warrants against him several years prior, and found nothing with which to prosecute him. Those warrants expired. Then a few years later they came back wanting a new one, and got denied. The fact that they had previously had warrants against him was irrelevant, they had to present new information and apparently they didn't have enough to get a warrant. Then they came back again using the dossier and got approved. That's the problem.

Update:

Gates to plead guilty to a fraud-related charge, will testify against Manafort

Still all based on anonymous sources though. And we remember how they screwed up the Flynn deal and got the Never Trumpers hopes up that he was gonna testify against Trump.

I'll wait for the official announcement.
