In one instance, a top lawyer in the division reportedly groped the breasts and rear ends of two female trial attorneys, and also made sexual comments to them at an office. He had previously been disciplined and demoted for sending sexually-oriented emails to colleagues.
However, the lawyer wasn’t suspended nor did he face a drop in pay or grade, according to the Post. The inspector general’s report found that the case “presented potential criminal assault violations, yet we found no evidence in the case file that a referral was made to the [Inspector General] or any other law enforcement entity.”
This is not a partisan matter.
Because in all honesty, I feel compelled to assert that the DOJ is but 1 of many thousands of sections of society that has a faltering programme to address sexual assault...
So I have to wonder why we are being guided towards the DOJ, and not all of the others that have the exact same problems.
yet we found no evidence in the case file that a referral was made to the [Inspector General] or any other law enforcement entity.”
But imagine you were a woman assaulted by a guy, go through the proper channels, and see the justice department downplay it...
All what you quoted says is that it was potentially criminal, but there was no evidence other agencies were informed.
It seems to me that the point is that the inspector General or other agencies should be informed of possible criminal acts.

This article says that inspector General Horowitz has been looking at how sexual complaints are being handled in the justice department.
He has found in many cases they have been lacking in any ways, often allowing the accused to have no punishment or real investigation.
The article lists several cases as examples but here is one.

Now I have roundly criticized judging people guilty by in the court of public opinion based only on an accusation.
And I stand by that.
But imagine you were a woman assaulted by a guy, go through the proper channels, and see the justice department downplay it, and see the guy who assaulted you not only face no consequences, but then get awards and praise in the future.
This is not a partisan matter. This garbage needs to stop.
I hope inspector General Horowitz makes real changes and a serious fair system for dealing with these allegations can be implemented.
