Alabama is as divided as the rest of the country between rural and city.

This looks like Moore is going to the Senate.

They will start an ethics investigation at a snails pace and squeeze as many votes out of him as they can.

The link you provided is still showing Jones with the advantage. Given the county by county and the percent reporting its still up in the air as to a winner.

ETA his lead just dropped to 2.8%

Damn, now Moore is up by just point 4 (.4) a percentage.

This is now a nail biter and potential recount territory? whoever wins?

I didn't scroll down to projections.
Apparently the cities haven't fully reported and they have a strong Jones bias.
It now looks 70%+ chance Jones will win, even though the count now has Moore ahead.

Yeah it will be the larger cities that will put one of them over the top. Not enough rural votes to offset.

They are tied now.

Well, Jones won.

Moore, the people of Alabama, the people of the United States, truth, and justice all lost.

There will be another election for this seat in 2018. Jones has a one-year term. I hope he makes the most of it.

Deep State Jonesd the Alabama people.

It's obviously a political hatchet job. Nothing came out until Moore ran against the Demonrats.

I am surprised. Pleasantly so.

Now the GOP Senate doesn't have to have that meeting they were going to have tomorrow. I think they are relieved.

You guys do need to understand Roy Moore is not the most popular person in Alabama. While he won elections it almost always the evangelical right that got him over. In addition he turned off women voters for the way he handled the accusations. Finally it was a split with Republicans on Moore or Strange.

Moore ran for Governor of Alabama and lost both times.
None of his election wins were landslides. Usually they were very close races, just as this one.

Given the close margins I wonder if AL law requires a mandatory recount.

Damn straight. Redneck has a solid reputation around here. You still have a ways to go to match that.
