Right...

Anyway, on a lighter note.

Using Crispr to help humanity just got easier

In its five years of existence, CRISPR/Cas9 has revolutionized the field of gene editing, allowing researchers to edit DNA like a piece of text. While it’s potential is unquestionable, ethics and safety concerns have prevented CRISPR from being used to treat human diseases. Now, scientists at the Salk Institute have found a way around one of those hurdles, modifying the CRISPR system to treat several diseases in mice without cutting DNA, which means they avoid unwanted mutations. The technology works epigenetically, influencing gene activity without changing the DNA sequence.

You may now return to your prophecies of doom.

No. Everyone who has a DNA has the right to be pissed because it's our life's source code. It's beyond hacking. It's like messing with the internet protocols to play gods to troll the Creator of the code. If you believe it's for the good of humanity and curing diseases you're a naive believer.
Look what the other hand is doing. The left hand is poisoning you on every front to lower your numbers, making you stupid with flouride, autistic, sterile or in seizures from vaccines. Next time they'll just vaccinate you beyond repair because they have a new tool.
I say DNA should be an absolute tabu and everything related modification or gene expression or any other sneaking around it banned forever even before a first DNA Fukushima. The public has the right to do it.

When 80 percent of our workforce is robots in a few decades, we will have outlived our usefulness. The rich elite families who view themselves as the "owners" of everything will have a convenient way of culling the herd. Probably something like this, or something that sterilizes the population. There are some really evil people in this world.

You consider that evil?

Yes, killing off a majority of people so the one percent can have the planet to themselves with robots as servants, thereby replacing the "useless eaters" might be considered evil by most people.

Fortunately, biology is much too complex to make anything like that happen. Besides, as it is said by our prophet, "life, um, finds a way".

I think any and all research should be conducted through the lens that within 10-20 years it would be available to any groups with the desire to obtain the tech and use it at will.
