Good day ATS,
I have a funny little tale for you all.

To say I had a surprise waiting for me this morning in my office would be an understatement.

I walked into my office at 6 am this morning. Turned on the light and threw my jacket on my chair.
Out of the corner of my eye, I see something white flash by on the floor.
I looked around, thinking maybe i dropped something. But there was nothing there.
Thinking nothing of it. I sit down in my chair and turn on the computer.
Then again another flash of white goes by in front of my desk.

I get up and look over the edge and there looking back up at me are the cutest set of beady little eyes I have ever seen.
It took me a second to register what was looking back up at me.
Then I realized...its a damn weasel!

Ive never seen them with their white winter coat before.

I called my coworker in the next office over to come look in my office.

He's an animal lover like me, so he says lets catch it and let it outside.

We closed my door to make sure he didnt get loose in the building....then the idiocy ensued.
I grabbed my Ipad and recorded the footage of us bumbeling around chasing this thing back and forth in my little 10 x 10 office.

These little guys are fast!

We managed to get a box over top of him, then slid a length of cardboard under the box to pick him up.
I was only able to get a couple decent pics, the rest are too blury.

Have any of you had any exciting late visitors?

Here he is poking his head out from behind my desk

Then sneaking around behind it

And still sneaking

Finally caught and outside ready to be let go

The video is nothing but swearing and shaky camera work...
I think the little guy got about 10 seconds of camera time out of the 2 minute video. lol

Ahhh problem. That is probably a domesticated pet of someones. It probably won't survive outside. But if you want to see the little killers in action.

Definitely not a pet.

I forgot to mention my office is 2 hours in the bush at a remote mine site.

Ok. Just a thought. It would be different in the wilds of a large urban area.

What a cutie pie!

eta: He sure weaseled himself out of that one. hehe.

If he shows up again, you must put him a little bed and food bowl in there. (In the meantime, I'll try to be thinking of a name.....)

Oh that was my first thoughts as well!

I could take him out, pick out a nice lil Christmas tree for him,
Help the lil guy decorate it.
Bring him a shoe box with a little bed in it and keep it in the drawer in my desk lol.

How about Wesley the weasel?

Wow, that was efficient. A totally clean kill unlike some other beasts I've seen in action. Very impressive!
